Isn't it great when MAC cop on to themsleves and make a sporadically released, limited edition product available again? The Huggable Lip Colour* line has been much-coveted among MAC limited edition fiends for years now, causing a bit of a stampede with every release. Now, I was under the impression that these were permanent this time around, but the Internet tells me otherwise - if you want to snap one up, Brown Thomas still have them in stock.
They're more expensive than your average MAC lipstick at €23.50, but the formula is excellent and the packaging is that little bit more fancy. There's a colour for everyone here, and if you pick the right neutral you'll find yourself reaching for this lippie near daily (as I do with Soft Talkin'). The texture is lovely and soft, a kind of moisturising gel, with sheer to semi-opaque pigment. The formula is really hydrating and incredibly forgiving, even if you suffer with dry or patchy lips. The shade range is vast and there's definitely something for everybody here, whether you're a fan of brights or a nude lover.
I've got a more in-depth breakdown of the shades below, but it is worth noting that the colour of each can be amplified really easily with the help of a liner (no surprises here - I'm obsessed with the stuff). I love wearing Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk with Soft Talkin', MAC More to Love liner goes great with I'm Game, and MAC What A Blast! works perfectly underneath Love Feeling.
Soft Talkin' is a semi-sheer pinky nude. It's not a million miles away from MAC Patisserie (a classic), but the formula wins out over Patisserie for me, as it's far more moisturising and forgiving on the lips. This is the kind of shade you don't really need to think too hard about; you could throw it on with little or no makeup, or it would look equally at home with a sexy smokey eye.
I'm Game - I love the name of this shade, as it is what many would refer to as an entirely unapologetic 'slag pink'. Very Corrie. I adore it though, and it's not too in-your face when worn as a sheer wash of colour.
Love Feeling is a brilliant, rich, juicy orange. It's the most impactful of the three I have and I absolutely love it. Having said that, I do own more pigmented orangey shades (like MAC's Morange), so if you're looking for a gentle introduction to this colour family, look no further.
As I said above, I'm really not sure when this line came out or when it will become unavailable again, but it is currently in stock with Brown Thomas online!
