I’ve been on the hunt for ages for a lighter formula of foundation that will still work for oily skin. Because my skin is so changeable, I like to have something on hand that is buildable but works well as a light base – I’d been considering this one for ages and finally bit the bullet with the help of a voucher.
I’d been interested in this because reviews indicate that it’s not quite as greasy as the MAC version. It is still water-based and needs to be shook up before each use, but dries down quickly upon application to a demi-matte finish.
The shade, #31638, is very pink in the bottle but on the skin, it's a perfect match for me. I do find that MUFE bases lean very pink or yellow which can be off-putting when picking one out. My advice? Make sure to swatch on the face and don't let an SA sway you if you're already quite sure of a colour.
So how does such a light foundation fare on my skin? Quite well, actually. I do use a lot of concealer with this and always make sure to use a very good setting powder (usually Vichy Dermablend). I find this so much more comfortable to wear than a lot of my full coverage bases, and it can still be layered up if needs be. Wear time is fine - it does fade but not ostensibly so, which is totally fine for everyday wear.
I think this will be a great foundation to have on hand for summer months, and it's also great to mix with anything heavier. It's dear at €37 but there's a good amount in the bottle - 50ml. Of course this has now totally rekindled my interest in a lighter base so, feel free to leave your favourites down below!
