I've been making a concerted effort over the last few months to make a dent in my skincare drawer. Honestly, it was getting out of hand and everytime I opened it I would get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stuff that needed to be used up and would slam it shut rather than dig through it. One day I sat down and ether tossed or rehomed a lot of the stuff I knew I wouldn't ever reach for and have been working my way through the remainder ever since. Here are a few things I discovered in the depths of that drawer and a few that have recently come into my life...
REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask* - This stuff is the bomb dot com. Really and truly, I have never used an active peel mask that delivers such instantaneous results. It is pretty potent but, it acts as a nice micro exfoliant that sloughs off dead skin cells, clears congested skin and evens and brightens the complexion. And it smells like a fruit salad. So much love.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir - An oldie but, a goodie and one I was reminded of when my sister gifted me a new bottle last Christmas. I used to use this to set my make-up a few years ago and never remembered being blown away by it. It was nice and it took the powdery residue away but, it wasn't any better than MAC Fix+ or La Roche Posay Thermal Water. I don't know whether they have reformulated it or what but, I am obsessed with it at the moment. I use it pre-makeup to soothe and post-makeup to set and my skin always looks bright and fresh.
Diptyque Infused Facial Water* - I got this in a SpaceNK goodie bag months ago and assumed it was along the lines of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. You can imagine my surprise when I opened the fancy box to find that it was actually a pump cleanser. I use this as the first step of my skincare routine in the mornings and have found that it is really soothing and also feels quite tightening. Honestly though, as nice as this is, it's not a you-need-it product - especially at Diptyque prices!
REN Instant Firming Beauty Shot* - Another newbie; both to me and the market, I have been loving the new REN serum as a shot of hydration before I apply my foundation. "Instant firming" is not misleading; this stuff makes skin feels tight and taut and look very smooth. The packaging is a bit crap to be honest as the pipette sucks up more air than serum but, I can totally get past this as the results are so phenomonal. And no, it's not just for dehydrated/drier skins - Dee also loves it for her more combination skin!
