Oribe Dry Texturising Spray Review

I wasn't going to bother writing a review on this product because all that can be said about it has been said. However, I was using it the other night and thought to myself that it can't hurt to reiterate some points, especially as I have raved about other similar products before.

MAC Prep + Prime CC Crème in Adjust - Review & Swatches

If you don't want to read through this entire review, let me just open by saying that I thought I'd hate this but it's actually fantastic, and I can see a lot of people using and loving it. The new MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correct collection is out now (and will be staying in the permanent line, FYI). If you've seen it in stores already, you'll know that it's a fairly confusing array of coloured CC creams and powders, designed to correct, brighten or lift skintones.

The product I have is the CC Crème in Adjust* - and, having had a good look at the other creams on offer, I feel like this is the one that will suit the vast majority of people, even if, like me, you aren't particularly interested in the whole BB, CC spiel.

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Compact Cream Foundaton Review

Let's talk foundation. Generally, I prefer light-to-medium coverage with a good whack of glowiness thrown in for good measure. So, when I was sent some of the new Vichy Dermablend make-up to try, I side-eyed it and fearfully pushed it to one side. Then I got curious and cracked open the cream foundation and the rest, as they say, is history.

This Week...#7

This week has been busy and I found myself wishing more than once that there were more hours in the day! The sad thing is, it wasn't even busy for an exciting reason so, this instalment of This Week could be rather boring I'm afraid!

Heavy coverage...who knew I would come over to the dark side! Generally a proponent of lighter, glowier coverage, I have really been appreciating how the cream formula of the new Dermablend foundation works with my stubborn dry patches. No unsightly settling or flaky bits. I'll have a review up on this later this week!

Game of Thrones... Yes, I am late to the party but, I think I've more than made up for lost time! Since starting GoT a week ago, I am almost halfway through season three! Granted, I wouldn't have made such good progress were it not for the long Easter weekend but, yep, pretty proud of my dedication!!

Summer...is in the air! I could have been anywhere in the world last weekend with my shades on and a glass of white in my had and it reminded me how much good a little hit of Vitamin D can be for the body! Now, roll on August and holidays!

Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer Review

One of Max Factor's most famed products is the bestselling All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation. This longwearing foundation sold one bottle every two minutes when it was launched and now Max Factor have gone one further and are selling the secret as to why the foundation lasts so long as an individual primer.

Quick, Bright Spring Makeup

I've constantly been in a rush for the last month, and when I have to rush my makeup, what I consider to be most important becomes really apparent - a great base. Now, again, because I have no time at the moment, I've no pictures of the actual cosmetics I used for this look, but they are all listed below so hopefully you won't mind.

Essie Spring 2014

I hope you all had a gorgeous Easter weekend? The sun was shining in Dublin and I was able to take some blog photos outside for the first time this year which was more exciting that I care to admit! The Essie Spring 2014* (€9.99) collection proved to be a perfectly apt subject for this little photo shoot and I wanted to share it with you in all its glory.

This Week... #6

I can't believe it's been six weeks since we started this little series! Time is flying and I only wish I had more - I haven't blogged for over a week which is kind of awful, but life (well, a thesis deadline), has gotten in the way. After another week or so, I'll be back to a totally normal schedule, I promise! This weekend's already been great, I hope you're all  having a nice Easter!

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara Review

It's been awhile since I wrote about a mascara which is strange as it's my "desert island" make-up product and I always have a new one on-the-go. After finishing my beloved L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara, I decided to try the new Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara* (€12.99) which is due out mid-May.

Neutral Blush and Me

When it comes to neutral-toned blush, I am powerless. If you tell me that a particular one is good, I will absolutely buy it. I have no filter, no logic, no level of reason when a beautiful rose-brown blush is dangled in front of me. And, I'm okay with that. Nine times out of ten, I will reach for a neutral blush. Sure, I have others (I'm otherwise partial to peach blush) but, the effect a neutral blush gives is unparalleled and, while they may look drab and uninspiring in the pan, they are the most transformative make-up product you can use. Let me take you through my collection...

Top 5 ¦ MAC Lip Liners

If you had asked me five years ago about lip liners, I probably would have stared at you and levelly said that's only something my mother uses. Fast forward those five years and I have an extensive collection of lip liners and would never ever in a million years contemplate wearing lipstick without them. My favourite liners are from MAC so, I wanted to take you through my Top 5 picks and explain why lip liner is so important to me and why these particular five make the cut.

This Week...#5

Last weekend I came down with a cold that lasted all of this week and developed into a minor case of laryngitis just before the weekend. To say I have been flattened by it is an understatement but, thankfully, I do seem to be coming out of it now and am looking forward to two short work weeks with Easter next weekend. Here's what's been on my mind this week...

Old Favourites...I have been cheating on my gorgeous NARS Translucent Crystal powder this week with an old favourite; Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Foundation. This, paired with Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation, is the answer to a flawless, long lasting base my friends!

Weighty Issues...I've wanted to shed some pounds for awhile now but, as I don't have much to lose, I found it very hard to kickstart the weightloss process. However, I have finally found a method of eating that works for me in that I am losing weight yet still staying strong and energised for the gym. If you want to give it a name, I have adopted a quasi-Atkins lifestyle but, I don't follow all Dr Atkins rules and I don't agree with "branded" diets so, lets just say I'm doing high fat/moderate protein/low carb! I'm down 1.4kg in 3 weeks and don't find it hard at all without bread, sweets, crisps etc.

Peaches...It caught my by surprise how emotionally I responded to the death of Peaches Geldof this week. I was not a particular fan of hers in life and I don't want to be seen to be bandwaggoning in death but, seeing someone who had very clearly turned her life around and was a passionate and well-learned mother to two very young babies die so suddenly really shook me up. She was a year older than me and her death, whatever caused it, suddenly reminded me of my own mortality. Her friend wrote a beautiful piece in The Guardian yesterday and I would urge you all to read it.

New! Bourjois for Nails

Last week I showed you the limited edition Paris in Bloom blushes from Bourjois and this week I wanted to give you the lowdown on the new products for nails that will be hitting counters between April and May of this year.

A complete rundown of my all-time, top 10 favourite MAC eyeshadows! Enjoy x

Indeed Labs Eysilix and Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Masks

I've been using these new skincare bits from Indeed Labs for a few weeks now so, I wanted to update you and let you know what I think. Indeed Labs is a brand that really came to the fore with their wonder serum Hydraluron and, since then, they've been churning out release after release that are quite scientifically grounded. I recently picked up the eye cream Eysilix and the Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Sheet Masks as part of a recent Boots 3-for-2 and, for the most part, have been loving them.

The Transformers

Skincare has come to be one of my favourite subjects to blog about. My own skin is difficult even at the best of times and I've really enjoyed sharing what works and doesn't work on my blemish-prone, oily and dehyrated skin type. I've mentioned these products before at least in passing, but as a trio, these have got me through a horrible winter and, well, kept my skin sane, basically.

Brand Focus ¦ NARS

It's high time that I showed NARS some lovin' in one of these brand focus posts. This has easily been the most impressive brand discovery for me and my NARS collection has expanded rather rapidly from just a blush and bronzer duo to almost all manner of other make-up products. While I love the brand and most of what they have on offer, there are a few things I have tried that are duds and I will also delve into them a little more detail.

This Week... #4

Another exhausting week down! I'm struggling to juggle everything at the moment but hopefully that will improve after I hand in my thesis - after presenting on it on Friday, I'm on the home stretch now! Again, I can't say I've been doing anything uber-thrilling this week but I'm pretty satisfied with how everything is going and excited to get properly back into blogging in a few weeks. It'll never be the biggest part of my life but, I miss being able to devote more time to it all the same!

1. Shorter Hair...  The busier I am, the more thankful I am that I got a good few inches chopped off my mop a few weeks ago now. For years I was obsessed with keeping my hair as long as possible, so this was a bit of a change, but I just love it. I can dry my hair in ten minutes and it looks presentable without getting the straighteners out. This has never happened before! I wasn't sure if I'd keep it this length for long (my hair grows like a weed), but now I know I'll definitely be heading back in a couple of weeks for another trim!

Video ¦ Morning Skincare Routine

Happy Saturday! Apologies that it's been a bit quiet on the video front from me lately - I've literally had no time to film or edit. The next couple of videos will be pre-filmed ones from my filming spree a few weeks back and, hopefully, next weekend, I'll have a chance to get some face time with the camera. This video is on my Morning Skincare Routine and it's short and sweet. Hope you enjoy!

Bourjois Paris in Bloom

Bourjois is a brand I loved as a young teenager (their lipglosses smelled like Refreshers sweets!) but, easily forgot about once bigger, brighter brands entered my consciousness. However, since working with the brand over the last year or so, I now see it for what it is - a high-quality budget brand that deserves more of my attention. Bourjois have loads of loveliness launching over the next month or so but, I wanted to touch on the beautiful limited edition launch, Paris in Bloom, which will be in-stores until May.

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Review

I can't deal with how good this concealer is. It's the product that's gotten me really excited about drugstore makeup again and for that, Sarah, I am forever in your debt.

This is the best budget concealer I've used since Collection Lasting Perfection and the two are basically on a par for me. I use the Collection one quite a lot to brighten under my eyes and er, most of the area under the undereye area (and since I got a fresh one I can say I think I prefer it to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, but that's another post in itself).

Video ¦ The Beauty Scenario Tag

I haven't had much time for videos recently but happily the stretch in the evenings has been my friend, and I managed to sit down and record this last Sunday evening when I had a few minutes.  Hopefully you enjoy and give it a thumbs up!

Wishlist: April

I'm excited that it's April! The days are longer and the weather is, hopefully, better. Summer is right around the corner and I always feel like I am at my most positive and motivated when the sun is shining. With that in mind, I've been dreaming of shimmery skin, maxi dresses and adding to my sunglasses collection...enter April's wishlist!

Revlon Sultry Samba: Bad Name, Good Lipstick

With the spade of offers Boots have had on recently, I've gotten back into "the drugstore" in a big way. I'd first heard of this lipstick when I saw LisaLisaD1 mention it on YouTube; it's a gorgeous slightly neon-ish pink with a little more depth to it than the likes of MAC's Candy Yum-Yum. I didn't think we'd be getting the lipstick on this side of the Atlantic so was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in Boots as part of Revlon's new Carnival collection. Hopefully this means we'll also be getting that Vintage collection of lipsticks that everyone in the States has been talking about?! Snow Peach looks like a beautiful coral and I would like it to be mine.
