This time of year really calls for bringing out the big guns in the skincare department. If you want some serious nourishment for skin after being out in the biting cold, here is no better way to treat yourself than with a really good-quality oil.
I've been converted for life to oils in skincare - whether it's for cleansing or treatment, they are just incredible. I've used quite a few oils as overnight treatments and can't recommend them enough, even if your skin is combination/oily/spotty like mine - it just helps to balance everything out, especially at this time of the year. It can also help with scarring, uneven tone and redness - can you tell I want you to try an oil?
I've been using this Omega 3 oil* from the REN Vita Mineral range for about two months now and my skin has quite literally been drinking the stuff up. REN is a brand I've had quite a lot of success with over the last year and a half - I really love their masks and cleansers, so wasn't too suprised at how well I've been getting along with this oil. It is quite light in texture but sinks in well; I am prone to slapping it on quite liberally as an overnight treatment on its own, but you could also use just a couple of drops either underneath or mixed with your usual night cream.
To sum up, this has been my saviour so far this winter. It's extremely nourishing without being unpleasantly heavy on my combination skin, and I will relish using every last drop!
