S: I got the Lorac Behind the Scenes Primer as a sample with the Pro palette and that's been my go-to every morning. It doesn't do anything other than prevent creasing but, really, isn't that all you want?
D: I love, love, love the NARS eyeshadow primer but also have to give a nod to Lorac Behind the Scenes because they are on the same level of, well, Superglue for eyeshadow basically.
S: I've been impressed by both Laura Mercier and Lorac this year and I rekindled my love affair with MAC but, I'll allow Lorac to take this one as I bought the Pro Palette sight unseen and based only on the rave reviews online and was blown away by the buttery, pigmented quality of the shadows.
D: I am drowning in eyeshadow at this stage and I love so many brands for different things - but my palette of the year has to be NARS Narsissist so, I'll give NARS the crown! For some serious luxury, I'm also sneaking in Tom Ford here - Cocoa Mirage is just the most incredible eyeshadow quad that I've ever used.
S: MAC Ricepaper has proven itself to be the most perfect lid shade and I urge everyone to get it - it's the only eyeshadow I have ever finished. In second place is MAC Texture for a one product smokey eye that is perfect everytime.
D: MAC Folie was one of my most used all year - as was Wedge; they're both brilliant crease shades!
D: My favourite liquid liner of the year has to be Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - it's foolproof and jet-black. For a pencil, I used the Clarins Crayon Kohl in Instense Brown & Black more often than not for a smokey look. They're really easy pencils to work with, they last a long time on my eyes and you get plenty of product for your money.
D: Upon reflection I have to say that my favourite mascara of the year was a bit of a dark horse. I didn't really realise until I started using it again recently just how much I love L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes - I think I actually prefer it to Benefit They're Real and the Excess Black version is next on my list to try.
S: The Anastasia Brow Duos have been my Holy Grail this year. They are the perfect ashy grey brown mix, last all day and I can easily use them to create a brow that is softly defined and lighter at the front and darker toward the tail.
S: MAC wins hands down for both the array of shade options and also the longevity. Some favourites are nude Soar, orange What A Blast and brown-red Chicory.
D: I am obsessed with MAC liners; favourites of the year include Soar, Dervish, Cherry and Vino. I also have a lot of time for NYX liners - Peekaboo Neutral, Bordeaux and Mauve would be my top three.
S: Ehhh...oh. Hmm. I'll say MAC again because they consistently impress and, obviously, offer every colour under the sun. However, special commendation must go to NARS for their Velvet Matte Lip Pencils.
D: MAC is just a given, isn't it?! I don't think I'll ever stop buying MAC lippies, and the same goes for NARS. Between the pencils, their semi-matte lipsticks and the new Audacious range, they kind of just have everything covered.
