Estée Lauder is an absolute heavyweight when it comes to premium skincare and makeup - during the four years that I've been blogging, they just seem to have improved and modernised. The products have always been brilliant, but the brand's association with an older generation seems to have strengthened during the 2000s and was badly in need of a fresh overhaul. Cue their recent recruitment of Kendall Jenner - talk about a sure-fire way of reviving a brand!
I wrote about why Estée Lauder is most definitely a cooler brand than you would think here - one product that they never seem to get wrong is skincare.
I cannot get enough of Advanced Night Repair. It's something if a cult serum; I first got to try it when it was reformulated in 2013, and then repurchased it myself this year with the help of a Clerys voucher. Why do I love this? Well, it's packed full of my favourite ingredients like hyaluronic acid, it's extremely gentle, and it never fails to help make my complexion look that little bit well-rested. If you're serious about skincare and can afford to splash out or have a voucher to burn, this is a bit of a no-brainer. Equally, this would make a fantastic Christmas pressie for any skincare lover in your life.
The eye cream* is more like a very luxurious eye balm - a thicker version of the ANR serum that feels very comfortable and soothing on the eye area. My eyes are quite sensitive from wearing contacts far too much, and I've had no issues at all with this formulation. Again, this is an expensive product, but it is lasting me forever - if you are concerned about your eye area at all, invest in this. It's one of the very few products that definitely does something to make the area look less dull.
There's no getting away from the fact that these are premium skincare products, but something to bear in mind is that I always find that serums like Advanced Night Repair last me far longer than anything else, so on a cost-per-use basis, it's really not that bad. There's also a few nice ANR Christmas sets doing the rounds online at the moment, so check out the links below!
