It's been a hot second since we did a look inside our make-up bags so, I thought I would correct that and show you what's been a mainstay in my little on-the-go make-up pouch for the last few months. As we attend a lot of events in the evenings after work, this little coral Sephora number lives in my handbag and contains everything I could need for make-up touch-ups.
I try to keep it as streamlined as possible, both for space-saving reasons and so as that I only have products in there that are actually usable for any situation I find myself in - a bright purple lipstick wouldn't exactly suit an impromptu work meeting! So, the contents are boring and neutral but, infinitely workable.
I'm lucky in that my base make-up holds strong throughout the day so, I only ever really need to powder to take away shine. At the moment, my on-the-go powder of choice is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural as, if you read this post, you will know I'm trying to get through it by the end of 2014. I keep a Kiko Kabuki in the pouch to apply this. I also have a concealer (Diorskin Nude), just in case something horrific happens to my face/skin that day but, it rarely gets used. Equally, I carry a blush that doesn't get too many outings but, if I'm particularly tired, I will used it to perk up my complexion. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed is perfect for this.
These little trios from Wet n Wild are ideal for chucking in your make-up bag. The shadows are very buttery and can easily be applied with fingertips - though I carry a mini flat shader brush and blending brush. Walking on Eggshells is my favourite. A mini of my favourite mascara Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash along with Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl, L'Oreal Brow Artist Pencil and Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel round out eyes.
Finally, for lips, I usually chuck in whatever inoffensive shade I am currently loving. At the moment, that is most definitely the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist (nude lip perfection) paired with a similar shade of Kiko Automatic Precision Lip Liner.
