An Afternoon with Antipodes

Last Sunday we had the pleasure of attending an afternoon tea hosted by Antipodes in the Westbury Hotel. The New Zealand brand, certified organic and part of a new revolution of 'green beauty' were celebrating their bestselling products taking to the skies and being available on-board flights around the world - only for Business and Premium Economy fliers, mind you, as well as formally introducing it to the Irish market.

We had previously heard about the brand through both Sarah (who loves their Aura Manuka Honey Mask) and UK bloggers, where they seem to have wider access to it. However, we were surprised to learn that Antipodes is actually quite widely stocked in health food stores around Ireland and was selling better than the likes of Dr. Hauschka which is arguably better known here.

Antipodes is a brand rooted in science which long-time readers will know that we love but, it combines the proof with using ingredients entirely derived from the local landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand including sustainably sourced mamuka black fern which renews cells, pohutukawa which conditions skin and kowhai leaf which is an antioxidant. Avocado Oil and Manuka Honey feature heavily across the brand, resulting in products that are incredibly hydrating, luxurious and kind to skin.

Over cakes and champagne, Brand Ambassador Deborah shared that in the UK, the Aura Manuka Honey Mask was one of their bestsellers but, worldwide, it was the Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream, the Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream and the Jubilation Ultra Nourishing Hand & Body Cream that stole the top spot. Having used the Jubilation for morning and night for the last week, I can vouch for the "ultra nourishing" claim on the tube - ragged cuticles, be gone! The Grapeseed Butter Cleanser is now on The List as Deborah said it's very akin to my beloved Eve Lom but, a fraction of the price.

Among UK bloggers, Antipodes have made a name for themselves alongside the likes of Aesop so, it's great to see them getting a foothold here where we are so keen on quality skincare. As I mentioned, health stores like Nourish currently carry the range (including the mineral make-up) but, if you like to shop online like we do, FeelUnique stock the brand and have free shipping and frequent discount codes to boot!

  1. I have the Burgundy Crush, it's definitely my fav from glossfinity, it looks a bit darker irl and has such a pretty mix between red and a bit of purple/pink. Love it :)
