Nail Polish Remover Pots: Bourjois vs. Essence

Duping products has definitely been done to death (and that includes on this blog!!) but after I picked this Essence Sponge Nail Polish Remover (€2.50) during the week, I kinda had to share my thoughts on why this is worth throwing into your Penneys basket.

I'm a long-time fan of the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover. I often do my nails quite late at night and really appreciate how quick and easy it gets the job done. It doesn't dry my nails out, smells pleasant and the new version also has a little sponge in the cap which can be used on toes - very handy (if a little gross).

The Essence version looks immediately similar. At €2.50 it's far more cost effective - if you're a regular wearer of glitter polish, you could even pick up a second one to reserve for glitter only.

In terms of performance, this was just as effective at getting polish off my nails in double-time. It doesn't feel quite as moisturising on the nails as the Bourjois does - but as I always wash my hands immediately after use, I haven't noticed that the formula has dried my nails our or anything. Thumbs up for a cheap alternative that works!

  1. Thanks for sharing this, I will look into picking this up next time I finish my Bourjois one, because as much as I love it, it's not cheap for a nail polish remover. Great idea to buy two and have one separate for glitter nails :D x
