A Red Lip That Lasts And Lasts

I'm like a broken record when it comes to red lips. I love them, I think that there is a red out there to suit everyone, and I think that every woman should be able to rock a red with confidence!

I know that the issue of lasting power is what holds a lot of people back from wearing reds or brights. I've been wearing this combination (or a variation thereof) for the last couple of months and I have to say - it does not budge.

Teaming a good MAC lipliner with one of the NARS infamous Velvet a Matte Lip Pencils (aka some of the best lippies ever made) makes for something of a killer combo. MAC lipliners are frequently of such good quality that you could definitely wear one alone for a long-wearing stain of colour, so layering one with another pencil product? It just works!

The reddest of red lip combos I've tried is pictured above: NARS Cruella and MAC Cherry. I think that MAC Cherry is a liner everyone needs - it's just so easy to work with, but also sticks around forever.

For my graduation, I knew I wanted a true red lip because it's what I feel most 'myself' in. I went for something blue rather than orange-toned in order to keep my teeth looking as white as possible. The aforementioned combo totally fit the bill and lasted all day. I mean through the ceremony and picture-taking, well into dinner. At Electric Picnic (the middle picture below) I also used a similar combo but layered Dragon Girl on top of the liner for a brighter, more intense look. These pairings are definitely reliable ones that I'll always return to - what's your favourite lipstick?!
