New Skincare Favourites

Alpha-H Liquid Gold:

This is old news to basically everyone except me - I only started using it a couple of months ago and it's safe to say that I haven't looked back. This is a bloody expensive piece of skincare kit but it's one of those items I just have no issue with paying out for - it works, so, it's worth it.

In case you're out of the skincare loop, this is essentially a very strong chemical exfoliant in the form of a liquid toner. I use it every 2-3 nights and always wake up with clearer and slightly tighter skin the next morning. If my skin is acting up I'll use it a few nights in a row and it's not let me down yet. It speeds up the life cycle of my breakouts, resurfaces my skin and just generally makes for a clearer, brighter complexion. A permanent fixture on my skincare shelf from now on.

Clark's Botanicals Deep Moisture Mask:*

I always have some kind of hydrating mask on the go - I never really use them as wash-off masks, though - it's better to just leave them on overnight. This one from Clark's Botanicals (€X from Space NK) is a joy to use. The texture and the scent are right up my alley - it smells faintly floral (but not offensively so), and smoothes onto skin in the most incredibly satisfying way.

This definitely works and actually plumps my skin quite a bit - it'd want to because it's very dear, out of my own price range if I am totally honest. I even brought a little decanting pot of this to Electric Picnic because, well, I am that person.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye:*

Advanced Night Repair is probably my most loved serum so I was really looking forward to giving this a go. It's a really potent eye cream that feels more like a serum once spread onto skin; I'd liken the texture a little to Eight Hour Cream. There are very few eye creams I've used that have actually made a discernible difference to the skin in that area - this is one of the,

I think that the marketing of beauty products gets harsher and crueller the older the target market - and I also think that a large portion of anti-ageing products on the market don't do a jot to improve skin. However, the ANR range is one that I feel really works and am happy to recommend to you!

  2. I'm going to have to get samples of these the next time I'm out shopping. Thanks for the reviews.

  3. They're all brilliant products!

  4. I've only recently started using Liquid Gold after telling myself I didn't need to try it for so long. Well, I'm so happy I finally caved, it's made such a difference to my skin which was having quite a bad time of it recently. Don't think I'll be able to do without it now! Also love ANR Eye, I've been using it for a couple of years on and off now and I really do think it works.
