Make-Up Packing

Following on from last week's travel skincare post, I wanted to divulge what make-up I packed for two weeks away. Once again, we are going on a cruise so, I need a combination of waterproof products for daytime and more dramatic, full make-up for evenings. I think I've done better than usual this year at whittling down what I'm bringing and I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

Foundation-wise, I've packed two; Shiseido UV Protective Liquid Foundation* because it's waterproof and unobtrusive on the skin so, perfect for daytime should I feel so inclined (I never do but, just in case!) and L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint as it is my fake tan shade and, being that I am Caspar's twin, a fake tan is all I ever get! To conceal, I'm bringing my trusty duo of Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Hopefully I won't get spots and need the latter but, again, just in case!

In terms of powder, I only need one and that is the NARS Translucent Crystal Light Reflecting Pressed Powder. This is perfect because a) it's the best powder of all-time and b) it's translucent so it won't interfere with my foundation colour. For blush, this might be crazy but, I'm only bringing one; the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is Mood Exposure. This has been a standout blush for me this year and, even though I would like to have peaches and corals and pinks in my arsenal, I know I'll be happy with just this. As with the last few years, I am bring my trusty Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer as it does the most beautiful things to the skin when you've been out in the sun all day and have that natural glow. I also chucked in the NARS Contour Blush as I don't get enough use out of this as it stands. It was a toss up between Laura Mercier Spellbound and Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01 for a highlighter but, the latter is new and also doubles up as my undereye setting powder so, tag, you're in MRBP!

Choosing lip products to bring away is like choosing a favourite child, (I presume) it can't be done. So, I've done my best to edit it down but, there are still, err, six making the journey with me. Hot pink comes courtesy of MAC Candy Yum-Yum while MAC Shy Girl makes the cut for the third year in a row as the perfect peach lip. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella has earned its rightful spot as my red of choice and Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in #6 comes along as the ultimate nude. For an obnoxious (and high-maintenance) coral, I've packed Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Muse and, as a happy afterthought, is the purple-pink, NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Never Say Never. Accompanying lip liners are MAC Process Magenta, MAC Chicory, MAC Brick, Hourglass Eden, KIKO Lip Liner 504 and MAC What a Blast!.

Insofar as the eyeshadow goes, I'm only bringing the Lorac PRO palette as it has a great combination of colours and textures and I really do not need to bring more than 14 eyeshadows for two weeks! I'm also bringing MAC Paint Pots in Painterly and Indianwood to use as bases as well as the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Cocoa. Liner-wise, Stila Stay All Day Liner, Avon Supershock, MAC Teddy and MAC Fascinating are coming.

Finally, brows and lashes! The Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown is coming along as well as the Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow. The Make Up Forever Smokey Eyes Mascara is my new favourite so that's making the trip as is the waterproof Cover Girl Lash Blast.

And that's it! It all fits in my trusty Muji fold-out cosmetics bag. It seems like a lot all written down like that but, I do like to use holidays to experiment with make-up and really luxuriate in having the time to play and put some effort in!
