Kev's mam went to New York last month and very kindly brought me back a few things I wanted from Sephora. I had been dying to try the BITE Agave Lip Nectar so, asked her to pick me up one (and one for Dee too!). This stuff is to.die.for. It's a genuinely stellar lip treatment and I can't wait to put it to the test this winter. It smells/tastes bloody delicious too! I also requested the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe. While one of the best pencils out there, I find the Anastasia Brow Wiz too fiddly and time consuming so, thought this might be a nice, compact solution. The shade combo is perfect for my brows when they are tinted and I like having the option to ombré by using the lighter shade towards the front and the darker shade towards the arch and tail.
You might have noticed I said it was perfect for when my brows are tinted. That's because, when the tint wears off, I find it a bit lighter than I would like so, I hopped over to Cult Beauty and ordered the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown. Again, this is a grey-based product (which I feel all brow products should be) and the shade combo is around two darker than the Taupe so, perfect for when I am between visits to my brow lady!
After Sue informed us that we could, in fact, order Lorac from Amazon US, Dee and I seized the opportunity to finally get our mitts on the famous Lorac PRO Palette. I think one palette came in at around €43 including shipping and it arrived about a week after ordering. This palette is beautiful. One row of mattes, one of satin/shimmers and a great combination of cool and warm-toned shades that are ever so buttery - I'm pretty sure this palette will have the honour of being my holiday eyeshadow ration!
SpaceNK has become something of an issue for me so, I have to avoid it lest my bank account suffer! However, when waiting to meet Dee last month, I killed some time by checking out two products I had my eye on. One was the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01; a baked, satin-finish highlighter that is an incredible icy champagne - perfect for paler skintones. I use this everyday on my cheekbones, browbone and inner corners and then use the excess on the brush under my eyes for a gorgeous brightening effect. I also picked up the Hourglass Panoramic Longwear Lip Liner in Eden in the hopes it would work well with the Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo I blogged about here. A gorgeous lip liner and amazing formula but, not exactly the combination I was after...
...but, then Dee saved the day by gifting me a KIKO Automatic Precision Lip Liner in 504 from her trip to London. This is the lip combination I was had in mind. It adds just enough warmth and depth to the slightly mauve lipstick and defines my crappy shaped lips without looking unnatural. She knows her stuff that Dee! And, she very kindly picked me up another of my must-have brow brush, the KIKO 204.
I think that's it (and more than enough!) for my last few month's of beauty shopping. My sister is gone to America for a few weeks so, maybe she'll be able to pick up a few of my requested items but, other than that, I'm done for awhile now!
