8 Favourites Under €80

Last month I did a post dedicated to my favourite budget buys. I picked 15 standout products under €15 and divulged why I loved them. A lot of you seemed to like that post and agreed I should do a luxury version so, here we are! I toyed with doing 15 under €50 or 10 under €100 but, all things considered, 8 products under €80 seemed more realistic given the higher price point.

In terms of skincare, I am more of a mid-range gal than luxury lover. I don't always agree that price is reflective of product quality and I'm quite happy mixing my Garnier with my Vichy with my Indeed for the most part. However, one product I have been obsessed with for over two months now is the September-launching Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate*. This hydrating serum-moisturiser hybrid is fan-bloody-tastic and, while it has a steep price tag of around €80 for the small bottle, it has made visible difference to the texture and plumpness of my skin and I can definitely see myself digging deep to shell out for this when the sample runs out.

Another Shiseido product is getting my recommendation if we're going to talk about bases. The Shiseido UV Protective Liquid Foundation* (€39.00) is absolute Holy Grail material when it comes to summer make-up. Leaving aside the high SPF30, the fact that it is sweat and water resistant is revolutionary. The coverage is medium with a satin finish and it is one of those rare foundations that melts into the skin, leaving no visible layer, and requires little work. Also in the bases category is my well-loved NARS Translucent Crystal Light Reflecting Pressed Powder (€36.00). I use this everyday without fail and cannot express in words the amazing this it does to the skin. This one is almost on its last legs so, it'll be repurchased imminently I would say!

I'm a lip product gal through and through so, let me give over three coveted spots to three top notch lip products. First up are MAC Lipsticks (€18.00) - yes, all of them. These are some of the best lipsticks on the market and are what made me fall in love with make-up all those years ago. Some personal favourites are Ruby Woo, Violetta and Shy Girl. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils (€25.00) are like the crack of the lipstick world - highly addictive. These babies manage to be both matte and hydrating all at once and they last forever on the lips. It's hard to pick a favourite but, I'm giving it up to the classic Cruella. A newer addition to the collection is my perfect neutral lip, Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo (€27.00) in #6. Incredible formula and the nude shade I've been after all my life - highly recommend.

For cheeks, I'm going to give it over to another Hourglass product; Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (€35.00) in Mood Exposure. I get so many compliments when I wear this blush and the neutral, natural, dirty pink-brown-plum hue is perfect for pale skintones as it works as a blush-contour hybrid. This blush makes me so happy when I wear it, I sometimes wonder why I even have other blushes.

Finally, I'm going to round out this luxe lot with a nod to an eyeshadow palette. I had a hard time choosing between three; the NARS Narsissist, Laura Mercier Artist Palette 2013 and Lorac PRO, as the first two aren't available anymore and the third is US only. However, I'm tipping my hat to the Lorac PRO (c.€43.00) as you can order it off Amazon like I did or nag a willing relative to smuggle you one back. This palette is the best of both the other two combined; mattes and shimmers, warms and cools but, dare I say it, with a better eyeshadow formula. This is the only palette you need, I'm sure of it.

  1. So many people say mac lipsticks are overrated but I can't agree with them; the really are some of the best on the market. Great pigment, wide range, they don't dry out your lips. Also, that hourglass product has been on my lust list for so long.

  3. I really want to buy my first luxury foundation but I have no clue which one as there are so many great ones! What would you recommend for combination skin that has decent coverage and lasts all day?
