15 Favourites Under €15

If I had set about to write this post two years ago, I would have struggled. However, the low-to-mid range beauty market has improved tenfold in that time and I had a hard time whittling this category down to just 15! I wanted to do this post as, even though I do have a penchant for the luxe end of things (I might do a similar post on that?), a large portion of my everyday stuff is from the more pocket-friendly bracket.

I get a lot of my skincare from Boots now that things like micellar waters and cleansing oils have become more commonplace. I hugely recommend the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (€6.29) for a pre-cleansing cleanse or for removing light make-up. For the heavier slap, I love an emulsifying product. I've tried both the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm and the famed Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil but, at the rate I use them, I can't always justify the price. I picked up the new No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Oil (€14.25) last week and it is exactly what I wanted from a make-up remover without the hefty pricetag. Oh, and you can use your Boots No7 vouchers to get money off until the 10th August! Another new skincare ditty I've been impressed with recently is the L'Oreal Micellar Gel Eye Make-Up Remover (€4.99) as it is lovely and gentle at removing eye make-up. Without droning on about it again, I couldn't let this post pass without including my all-time favourite tan, Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan (€7.99)!

For nails, of course I have to include my beloved Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover* (€6.99). This stuff just makes manis (and now pedis too!) a doddle and I will not be without it in my nail drawers. Drugstore polishes have always ranked highly with me but, Essie (€9.99) steals the show every single time with their hyper-pigmented, on-trend shades.

I don't tend to rate cheaper foundations and base products because I rarely find a shade match. However, the NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat* (€13.50) is one of my favourite foundations of 2014 and the best shade match ever in a foundation. L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream* (€14.99) is a really lovely, lightly tinted pore perfecter that I wear under foundation. I prefer this over the similar Garnier one. I have already spoken of how impressive I find the Seventeen Stay Time Pressed Powder* (€5.69). This little compact lives in my handbag and is reached for frequently in this warmer weather!

Lips and cheeks are another area where budget brands excel. Like everyone, I love the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipsticks* (€12.49) and the L'Oreal Collection Privée Lipstick (€11.99) in the shade Julianne is one of my all-time favourite neutral lips. NUXE Reve de Miel (€12.35) is a lipbalm I have bought time and time again and I cannot go asleep without a generous layer of this slathered on my lips! I have been most impressed by the NYX Blushes* (€7.49) since the brand hit our shores. They are super vibrant and a little goes a long way, giving some of my higher end blushes a run for their money.

I am a mascara junkie so, picking just one to include in this rundown was tough! However, the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme! Mascara* (€10.49) has been really nice to use and gives great plumped up, separated lashes. I think I may have mentioned this little quad before but, the Maybelline Big Eyes Eyeshadow Quad* (€10.49) in Luminous Browns is a great quality combo of neutral bronzes and browns - perfect for travel!

  1. Good post!
I was going to try the Garnier water soon enough as my cleansing gel is ending.. but now I've got the No.7 Boots voucher, and you've mentioned it above I might try that one instead (given the cost/discount ratio!) haha
A slight pet hate I have though with the No. 7 products is the pumps can be a bit iffy! so much so I had to return one product, and the sales assistant had said they had already had complaints and were trying to swap them out!
Would like to the see the flip side with the expensive brands too!
