Speed Reviewing

Today I'm taking inspiration from one of our favourite blog pals Simone and speed-reviewing a few products I've acquired over the last while! This kind of post is a great way for me to plough through my thoughts on a few different items, and hopefully you guys will find it somewhat helpful if you've been wondering about any of the products. On with the reviewing!

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

This is brilliant stuff. It definitely helped my makeup last well during the warm period we've just been through here in Dublin, and it's less than a tenner. If you want something to help makeup dry down to a matte finish and stick around that bit longer, look no further.

Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation

This purchase was also inspired by Simone! This is, without a doubt, probably the best budget foundation I've ever worn. It's incredible and hides everything without looking cakey or matte. It has a slight glow but nothing to nervous of if you've oily skin. It's absolutely brilliant if you're having a bit of a crap skin day - it totally saved me last week when I was more than just a little bit hungover! An amazing bargain.

This is a product that has received mixed reviews - some love it and some hate it - but I felt like trying it after another haircut as I really need something to stop my hair from looking boring and flat after heat styling. It is kind of hard to describe what that does but basically, it is not a dry texturising spray, more of a concentrated styling hairspray that adds quite a bit of body and wave to the hair. I love it on my own hair, both straight and wavy, but I wouldn't recommend it if your hair gets greasy fast! It's not cheap but my can is lasting forever - and it's on offer in Boots at the moment!

A bit of a cheat as I've reviewed this product already, but I just wanted to insert this as I think these liquid lipsticks are quite special, comfortable and lovely to wear, and this pink shade is right up my street. Definitely one to pick if you're looking for a glossy bright.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar H

I've stripped back and simplified my skincare quite a bit of late, and it seems to be working really well. Most nights I am teaming this with a serum or just using it alone - I really like it as a very simple, basic moisturiser but I don't think I'd buy it again simply because I prefer Toleraine that tiny bit more - my skin is increasingly sensitive and seems to prefer that product.

So, that concludes today's session of speed reviewing! Let me know if you like this kind of post, and if you do, definitely check out Simone's too!

  1. That Matte Finish setting spray sounds great and for only a tenner!! I wonder what it's like in comparison to something like UD's De-slick!

    XO, G from grace'd

  2. I've used De-Slick and I think they are on a par x
