Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash
I know that this looks like the world's most boring product but, bear with me because this wash has been a gamechanger for my skin, and something I won't be straying from for the forseeable future! I think that a lot of people could really love this as it's a great way of incorporating chemical exfoliants into your routine without straying from more 'traditional' cleansing methods. If you've been following my skincare posts over the past year or so, you'll know that I've really reaped the benefits of cutting down on manual or physical exfoliators and switching over to exfoliating products that work without granules, instead using (mild) acids to sweep away dead skin and reveal a fresher, more enlivened complexion. This breed of product is also fantastic for keeping skin clear as well as reducing the appearance of pores and fine lines.
If you're familiar with the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel, this cleanser uses the same concept but is gentler and can be used daily; it also has the same delicious fruity scent. It is lightly foaming but not harsh in the slightest - a milky, viscous liquid. It leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed - not dry at all - and a lot more radiant and healthy-looking.
If you're new to chemical exfoliants, this is a brilliant place to start as it's such a gentle product. The fruit acids in this wash are gentler than ordinary gycolic acid (although that stuff also rocks), so it's suitable for use everyday. I've found that incorporating this into my routine (I use this almost every night after removing makeup as a second cleanse) has really helped to settle my skin - I can practically plot on the calendar when I'll be getting spots as they're almost purely hormonal these days. A bottle of this cleanser will last forever and a day, so it's totally worth splurging on as you won't need anything else for ages - I've had the bottle in this picture since the beginning of March and I'm not even past the writing on it.
I feel like using a cleanser packed with these exfoliating ingredients is a great idea for those who don't like to faff around with loads of different products, or those prone to forgetting key skincare steps - you're getting a lot done just by remembering to wash your face with this. It's actually a product that will suit a multitude of skin types; whether you struggle with blocked or enlarged pores, dry patches, acne scarring or uneven skin texture, you'll benefit from using something like this.
