Topshop Black Macrame Back Maxi Dress // Topshop Cream Macrame Back Maxi Dress // Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses // Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet // Dior Transatlantique Diorskin Nude Tan Golden Shimmer Powder // MAC Lipstick in Glam
I love that the maxi dress trend is here to stay for another summer. I love how a maxi dress is an outfit in and of itself, how you can dress it up or down, how it hides any lumps and bumps, how you don't need to worry about fake tanning. I have built up quite a nice collection of maxis over the last few years that have seen me through many a holiday and this year I have my eye on this black maxi dress from Topshop. It's perfect in that it has a semi-sheer skirt and wider straps (no need to worry about what bra to wear!) and, if you click through to the website, you'll see on the back shot of the model that it has an amazingly intricate macrame back panel. I also love the cream one but, will need a serious tan to pull it off!
Sunglasses are (one of!) my weakness and I have built up quite the collection. I always thought Aviator style shades didn't suit me but, after loving these ones that I bought en route to Prague last year, I have decided that I really want a pair of black on black Ray-Ban Aviators. I think these are a really chic take on the Aviator and would definitely get a lot of wear. Speaking of eyewear, I have a consultation for laser eye surgery later this month so, hopefully they find I am a suitable candidate and I can actually wear all my sunnies as and when I please, without having to pre-empt sunny weather and make sure I am wearing contacts!
Beauty-wise, I have my eye on a lot of stuff this month but, typically, it's nothing that is easily available. I can't wait to try the new Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet foundation which is due on counters this week. It is billed as a liquid-to-powder formula that mattifies the skin while still leaving skin with a natural-looking texture. From Dior comes the Dior Transatlantique Diorskin Nude Tan Golden Shimmer Powder - what a mouthful! This beautiful highlighter is from the nautical-inspired Transatlantique collection and it looks right up my street but, of course, there is a catch! At the moment it is exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue and it keeps selling out. Fingers crossed it makes its way transatlantique (see what I did there heh heh) sometime soon! Finally, as part of MAC By Request, they are bringing back a limited run of cult-favourite products from the 90s including the gorgeous MAC Glam lipstick. This pinky-red is so unique with a bright blue undertone and I think it would be perfect paired with beachy hair, the black Topshop maxi and black Ray-Bans...can you tell I am dreaming of summer?
