With the spade of offers Boots have had on recently, I've gotten back into "the drugstore" in a big way. I'd first heard of this lipstick when I saw LisaLisaD1 mention it on YouTube; it's a gorgeous slightly neon-ish pink with a little more depth to it than the likes of MAC's Candy Yum-Yum. I didn't think we'd be getting the lipstick on this side of the Atlantic so was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in Boots as part of Revlon's new Carnival collection. Hopefully this means we'll also be getting that Vintage collection of lipsticks that everyone in the States has been talking about?! Snow Peach looks like a beautiful coral and I would like it to be mine.
Back to Sultry Samba. The name is pretty cringe but I really like the lipstick; on first swatch, it doesn't appear to be overly pigmented but it actually applies and lasts very well for me. It's labelled as a matte but doesn't seem to be as densely matte as the likes of Really Red from the same brand. It's definitely helped along by a liner - here I've paired it with MAC Pro Longwear lipliner in More to Love. I'd had it on for a couple of hours and drank some tea before this photo but, I figured it would be a realistic shot of how it looks and wears.
I think this is a really great super-bright pink; it's a colour that's hard to come across from more affordable brands. Sultry Samba is kind of the perfect balance between full-on neon and plain fuschia and I think it's look great on a lot of people. It wears really well on me and it's decent enough value at €10.69... I do kind of balk at paying more than a tenner for a lipstick in Boots (their prices just never stop increasing!) but I'll let it slide in this case!
