Spring Nails

I don't mean to alarm anyone but, it was actually warm at the weekend! After months and months of rain and wind and terrible storms, it was nice to be able to step out of the house in a lighter jacket and not freeze to death! The change in weather really made me yearn for some more spring-like make-up and, when deciding on a nail polish, these are the shades I gravitated towards and chose from so, I thought I would brighten up your Monday (even if it's a sunny one, Monday's always need some brightening!) with my spring nail picks!

I surprised myself with the amount of pastels I felt drawn to as I'm really not a pastel person. Essie Bikini So Teeny, is an incredibly vibrant baby blue. It has that gorgeous creamy formula that Essie do so well and looks really great on pale skintones. Essie Muchi Muchi* is a beautiful bright baby pink that can be worn sheerly for just a hint of colour on the nails or built up in thin layers to achieve a really striking pop of colour. Essie Full Steam Ahead* is from the Summer 2013 collection and is a really special lilac with fine micro glitter running throughout. I wore this all summer last year and can definitely see it being one I rely on again this year!

From the new L'Oreal Les Blancs nail polish collection comes Pistachio Drague*, a stunning pale pistachio shade that makes me feel all serene and calm looking at it. This is a really special, unique colour and I actually spoke about this collection in yesterday's Beauty Chat video and you can pop over there to see this baby on my nails! YSL Eau de Rose* is most likely my favourite type of nude polish and it's perfect for spring. Pink-toned with no shimmer and flawless coverage in one coat, this is the stuff of dreams. For a less spendy version, check out Sally Hansen Naked Ambition.

Speaking of Sally Hansen, two shades caught my eye as I was rustling through my drawers. Sally Hansen Tahitian Sunset* is a repromote with the new collaborative collection with designer Emma Manley and it as a super bright coral with some neon orange undertones that makes it really stand out. Finally, Sally Hansen Get Juiced! is, as the name suggests, a juicy pink shade that makes me think of watermelon and pomegranate - perfect for dragging our weary bones out of winter and into spring!

What are your favourite spring nail polish shades?

  2. That Pistachio Drague has been calling my name since I fist laid eye on it ... as well as pastels I can't help but feel drawn to sky blue nails lately too! Maybe it's wishful thinking for some fine weather...

  6. Oh I know the blue you're talking about, I've been lusting after it also! Such a lovely collection, I may just buy all of them, even the odd yellow one
