Wishlist: February

Everyone give yourself a pat on the back for surviving January, the bleakest month of the year! Genuinely, I actually had quite an enjoyable January but, I am looking forward to everything the rest of 2014 has to offer. I've done quite a bit of beauty shopping over the last 3-4 months (see video evidence here) but, that's not stopping me lusting after many other new and lovely things!

You might remember from last month's wishlist that I did a mini revamp on my room. Well, to finish that off, I would love a Phillippe Starke Louis Ghost Chair to replace my current, rather imposing black leather desk chair. The Ghost Chairs are so unobtrusive and timeless but, cost an absolute fortune. There are a few "inspired" versions around but, I'm not sure how I feel about that so, we'll see!

For the second month running, I am lusting after one of the NARS Lip Pencils. Since getting Cruella, I have also added Yu to my collection and, because of Dee's bad influence, I now see a bit of NARS Velvet Matte in Damned in my future. I honestly can't stress enough how absolutely amazing these lip pencils are. Longwearing, highly pigmented and super comfortable - I want them all!

Wayne Goss is one of YouTube's most prolific male make-up artists and he has recently released a brush line that he, quite literally, poured his heart and soul into. He funded Wayne Goss Makeup Brushes entirely himself and all of the brushes are handmade in Japan and, from what I have seen online, the dedication shows through in the quality of the brushes. People have compared them to the famed Hakuhodo brushes and I have my eye on quite a few of them.

If Laura Mercier was my brand of 2013, I have a feeling NARS is going to clinch the title for 2014! The NARS Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base is something both Dee and Sarah  have been hounding me to get since they discovered it and the more eyeshadow palettes I buy, the more I find myself wishing I had it just as an easy, non-coloured base that will ensure all shadows last all day.

The beauty world lit up last week when news of the Hoursglass Ambient Lighting Blushes dropped. These look right up my street as they are literally one of the existing Ambient powders mixed in with blush pigment. All reviews are hugely positive and I have my eye on the rose-toned (of course!) Mood Exposure. Fingers crossed they launch soon! UPDATE - Space NK have these for pre-order and you know I ordered Mood Exposure. It has despatched so should be here soon!

Finally, a fragrance. As I mentioned in this post, I purged pretty much all of my perfumes because I am so fussy about scents. However, I do have my eye on another to add to my collection; Aerin Amber Musk. I love deep, sensual, musky scents and when I caught a whiff of this at a recent Aerin press day, I was sold. Sadly, it costs well over €100 in Brown Thomas and I just don't know if I can bring myself to spend that much on a fragrance. My birthday is coming up though so, we'll see!

Have your eye on anything this month? I'm quite impressed with the standard of beauty releases lately!
