This month I placed orders with Escentual and Cloud10Beauty, and a couple of other new products landed that I've been trying out. I feel like I've really got my skincare routine downpat at the moment (see last week's ramble for more evidence of that), I know what I really like and have also found a few new items of late that I'm quite enjoying.
REN CLEARCALM 3 CLARIFYING CLAY CLEANSER
On to my second bottle of this amazing stuff. It was out of stock on Cloud10Beauty for a good while and I was dying to get my hands on it again - when it came, I was pleasantly surprised with a bigger bottle than usual! It's the little things. What can I say about this stuff? It's an excellent gentle, calming and clarifying cleanser, it's creamy but you can feel the clay element for sure and, well, it really helps my skin out. I feel that it's more beneficial than a foaming cleanser and I always look forward to using it!
CLARINS GENTLE EXFOLIATOR BRIGHTENING TONER
I would hazard a guess that this is my fourth bottle of this toner. Hands-down, this is one of my favourite skincare products like, ever. I use it daily and wouldn't be without it - it's effective in that it keeps my skin fresh-looking and in check blemish-wise, but it's also a pleasure to use and smells like apricot.
BIODERMA SÉBIUM PORE REFINER
This was a fairly random Escentual purchase - I was curious to see what Bioderma had to offer apart from that bloody micellar water. I've used it a few times and the product it is most comparable to would be La Roche Posay's Effaclar Mat - both make excellent primers and they're around the same price point, too. It mattifies the skin nicely and controls oil quite well, so I'm happy enough with it. Even if it only serves as a primer I am satisfied as in my head, I feel it's probably better to use a skincare product than a cosmetic one to prime - if that makes even an ounce of sense!!
THE BODY SHOP ALOE SOOTHING GEL*
I am guessing that this is more of a summer product, but I've got a surprising amount of use out of this already. The cooling gel formula is brilliant on puffy eyes or freshly waxed skin, and I've also used it on large, sore spots that are irritated but haven't come to a head yet. It's even better if you keep in in the fridge!
THE BODY SHOP VITAMIN E OIL-IN-SERUM*
Oh wow. This stuff is going to be a long-running favourite - I am really, really enjoying it. Similar to but slightly lighter than a full-on facial oil, this is a hardworking, extremely hydrating serum that my skin has been drinking right up. I'm always a bit more fresh-faced in the morning after using this stuff - it'd be great for most skin types, from very dry to combination/oily. It's good value at €22 as you only need about 3-4 small drops per night - oh, and it smells absolutely gorgeous too!
