Rimmel Colour Rush Balms

After trying and liking Clinique Chubby Sticks, I never had any reason to stray from the original. Revlon released their Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, Catrice joined the club with the Pure Shine Colour Lip Balms and, most recently, Bourjois have entered the ring with the Colour Boost Lip Crayons but, I just never felt the need to dip my toe in a pool that had already been filled by the Clinique Chubby Sticks.

Fast forward almost two years since I first tried Chubby Sticks and you'll find that my curiosity got the better of me when these Rimmel Colour Rush Balms* landed in my lap.

Now, I have heard some murmurings that these are a new release with the collaboration Rimmel are doing with Rita Ora but, a bit of Googling has found swatches of these from as early as last October which has left me a bit confused. Maybe they are a repromote?

I'm actually quite impressed with these. They are easy to apply, easy to wear and give great colour payoff. I think that they do feel a little cheaper formula-wise that the Clinique but, they are only €7.95 on Boots, a mere fraction of the price of a Chubby Stick so, I can personally let that slide.

They leave lips looking slick and shiny but, crucially, not sticky. I don't agree with the tagline that they are longwearing. They last as long as I would expect any balm too but, not as long as a general lipstick. Here are a few "in action" pictures. They shades are in the same order as above.

What's your take on these? Are you loyal to one lip balm/crayon/stain over another or are you an equal opportunities lip product gal?

  2. I think I may have a bit of an addiction when it comes to lip crayons... I've tried some from MUA, Catrice, these guys and I've picked up the new ones from Wet N' Wild too! Really like these ones, especially Keep Mauving, such an easy shade to wear everyday!

  4. I'm not 100% sure so please don't hold me to it, but I think the Rita Ora stuff hasn't been released yet so maybe its just people saying so for page views or whatever. I'm pretty sure nothing has been said yet so I don't think their real swatches!
