Miss Manga* is L'Oréal's newest mascara offering and is inspired by the Japanese Kawaii attitude. Meaning cute, loveable and pretty, Kawaii has spawned a whole culture that includes music, fashion and lifestyle. The Miss Manga mascara aims to emulate this whimsical, exaggerated culture by creating extremely voluminous and doll-like lashes.
To really capture the essence of Kawaii and create the perfect doll eyes, L'Oréal have created their first ever 360 degree flexible brush. The flexibility of the wand allows for ease of application, helping the bristles to twist and wiggle their way in between lashes for maximum effect and ultimate coverage. The brush head is an interesting cone shape which L'Oréal suggest is a 2-in-1 deal; the thicker base is for loading up the upper lashes for dramatic impact while the narrower tip is for working with the shorter lower lashes.
The formula is also new for L'Oréal. Without getting into the science-y stuff, it contains collagen spheres to give the impression of massively voluminous lashes and also a trilogy of polymers to strengthen lashes and basically lock-in the desired Manga effect once achieved.
I actually really like this mascara but, then, I would as I am a fan of thick, blackest black lashes. It makes my eyes look bright and awake and, when paired with a white/nude liner, does look very doll-like. If you like to give your lashes some oomf, you'll love this!
