In The Bag: Ciara

Last month I passed the blogging baton to my sister Aisling for a fly-on-the-wall look inside her make-up bag. The post seemed to be a huge hit and everyone left such lovely comments which Aisling was delighted with so, thank you! Today, my youngest sister Ciara is going to do the same and show us what an 18 year old, stressed-out Leaving Cert students uses in some capacity day-to-day.

Since I'm still in school, I don't always wear make-up but, I do wear mascara everyday because, like my sisters, I have no eyelashes without it! I'm not very picky when it comes to mascara and this Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet Mascara is one Sinead gave to me. To be honest, it's nothing special but, it gets the job done and really reminds me of Benefit Bad Gal Lash!

On days where I wear more eyeshadow, I have found myself reaching most for this Kiko Sensuous Burgundy quad. I do have a MAC eyeshadow palette but, the quality of the Kiko shadows are brilliant and the colourway really complements blue eyes, making it easy just to throw on and go. Us Smith girls are basically cursed with fair eyebrows so, I am using MAC Eye Brows pencil in Strut. I want to get rid of this as it is too red for my liking but, I was young, naive and believed a sales girl when she told me it was "perfect"!

Face make-up is really important to me as my skin is combination-oily and prone to breakouts, especially when stressed (Like I am all the time at the moment!!). I don't like to look cakey but, I do want to make sure any blemishes are covered so concealer is one thing I invest a lot in. I have been using MAC Studio Sculpt practically since I first started wearing make-up and have found nothing better for concealing spots. It also works really well under the eyes if you use a light hand.

Once my concealer is taken care of, I'm not too fussed about what comes next. At the moment, I am favouring a lighter base but, always have to make sure to prime my skin first in case it gets oily during the day. I love, love, love the No7 Airbrush Away Primer. It's not too expensive but, it works really well with my skintype and doesn't irritate my skin. For a  base, I have been using the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream since around summertime. I find this great as it is relatively light coverage, matches my skin well and it's specifically for oily skin so, holds up better than most.

I love looking bronzed but, find it very difficult to find a bronzer that matches my fair skin without emptying my bank account. I'm working my way through the NYC Colour Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in All Over Bronze Glow and I really like it. It's super cheap but, really good quality and doesn't make my skin look orange. For blush, MAC Pinch O'Peach has been my go-to for months now but, only because I want to get rid of it as, brace yourselves...I'm not actually a fan of the MAC blushes!!! Highlighter is my true love in life and I love Benefit Watt's Up with MAC Soft and Gentle swooped over the top. It gives my cheekbones a gorgeous glow and this is one step I never skip!

I favour a nudey-pink lip for the most part and my favourite combination can be achieved by using MAC Lip Liner in Subculture, MAC Lipstick in Angel and Rimmel Vinyl Max in Outrageous. This trio is perfect for daytime but, at night I do like to go a bit bolder and have been reaching for MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo with MAC Lip Liner in Vino underneath.
