Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

I was once a girl who didn't give a crap about foundation. I wore what I had, usually MAC, and, quite often, didn't wear any at all. My, how times have changed! I now have a foundation wishlist as long as my arm and I am slowly working my way through it. My most recent acquisition is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, and by "recent", I mean I bought it in November, so I can't quite believe it has taken me this long to write about it!

Luminous Silk is billed as a weightless, hydrating foundation that leaves skin with a silky finish and luminous sheen. The formula is oil-free ensuring a good weartime - I usually get a good 15 hours out of it on an average day - and makes it very suitable for all skintypes.

The reasons I love this foundation are many but, the main one is the uniqueness of the formula. Never before have I found a foundation that offers light-yet-buildable coverage with a satin finish that still looks luminous and glowy. Even on my worst, most tired days, Luminous Silk manages to give a definite light and life to my skin which, let me tell you, is no mean feat!

The shade range - 21 - is generous and I had no problem finding a match for my ghostly complexion (FYI I'm shade 3). However, there is no obvious way to tell what are the pink-toned shades and what are the yellow-toned so, I would highly recommend getting colour matched at your nearest counter.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is €43 and available from Brown Thomas online.

    1. I really don't think it would. If you were worried, a light setting powder would definitely hold it in place without losing the gorgeous finish!

  7. This looks gorgeous on you, my skin just finds it really hard to work with foundations and I've tried this, but looks simply flawless on you!

  8. I have this foundation but find my skin is a bit dehydrated so I don't get much of a glow when using it. It tends to look quite matt on my skin. I think I prefer the YSL Teint Touche Éclat foundation. I find it gives buildable coverage and a more luminous finish.

    1. I also love the YSL foundation. Have you tried using a rehydrating oil for your skin at night? I too find that my skin leans towards the more dehydrated side of the scale and either the Clarins oil I reviewed this week or the Clarins Hydraquench range sort it right out! x

    1. I'm not sure if there is any shades below 3 but, I find that it matches my winter paleness quite nicely!
