Coming Soon: La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo+

Doing my usual Internet skincare trawl recently, I was delighted to find out that La Roche Posay are launching another Effaclar product - Effaclar Duo+. If you're not familiar with the Effaclar line, you might find this post useful, but suffice to say that I am never without at least one or two products from the line.

My skin gets used to products quite fast, though, and when I repurchased Effaclar Duo a bit before Christmas, I found that while I did still like it, it wasn't working as rapidly as it used to. So naturally, I'm only dying to try Duo+! The main difference between this and the original product seems to be that Duo+ is designed to fight acne and acne scarring. I hate my acne scars just as much as, if not more than, my regular zits, and find them horribly difficult to shift. Let's all say a prayer that this stuff works!

I spoke to La Roche Posay's Irish PR yesterday, and she told me that Duo+ will be coming to Ireland in March, and should be in and around the same price as the original product. I will do my best to review it in detail here - I am hoping it's good stuff, but knowing La Roche-Posay, it will most likely be great!

  1. Cannot wait for this one to come out!! I adore the original!

  2. Oooooh so exciting! I love love love Effeclar Duo, but like that I feel like it's not quite as effective as it was. Especially at treating scaring. Can't wait for this now! :)

  3. I'd heard great things about the Effeclar Duo, so went out and bought a tube. However, every time I use it, I can feel my skin burning up. Not sure if this is meant to happen? Or maybe I'm allergic. I've only used it a couple of times because of the burning...

    1. Hi Leanna, the same happened to my brother actually and I think his skin was just sensitive to the ingredients. I wouldn't keep using it if the burning is irritating you a lot - try Cicaplast Baume B5 if you need something to calm it down!

    2. Thanks, Dee. I'll try out your recommendation and pass the Effeclar on to my sister. My skin is generally sensitive so I guess that's the problem. :(
