My Face #10

It's a nice feeling to be rounding out the year with the tenth My Face post. I've loved doing these posts every month or so as it's a really great way to share and demonstrate my favourite products of the moment and I hope you have enjoyed reading them too! This was the look I went for on Christmas Day. I was rushing a bit as I was cooking that morning but, this look only took about 20 minutes to achieve and I really liked how the eyes and lips complemented each other.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser*
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener
NARS Creamy Concealer
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
Chanel Blush - Accent
Laura Mercier Artists Palette for Eyes - Bamboo (lid), Truffle (crease), Espresso Bean (outer corner), Vanilla Nuts (highlights)
Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow
L'Oréal False Lash Flutter Mascara*
MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash*
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner* - Black Coffee
MAC Lip Liner - Brick
Estée Lauder Lipstick Envy* - Red Ego

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Laura Mercier eyeshadows are just so far beyond any others I have tried - even MAC. They are consistently good; buttery, smooth, pigmented - every positive adjective really! I've exclusively used this palette since I got it and I don't have a bad word to say about it. The standout shades are for me are Vanilla Nuts, Fresco, Truffle and Violet Ink and I think most of them are available as single shadows too if anyone was interested in checking them out.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoy New Years whatever you are doing. I'm really looking forward to blogging in 2014 and hope you'll all stick around for the ride!

  2. You look great Sinead, love your red lip! I'm working up the courage to wear red lipstick outside the house, do you have any tips? Thanks! :-)

    1. Thanks so much! As for tips, if you feel very self-conscious with a bright lip, start by wearing the full-on lipstick at home and then a lighter lip stain outside the house until it just feels natural to have bright lippie on.

Generally though, as I have come to realise, people who don't know you won't know that you don't rock a red lip everyday so, they won't pay any heed to you as you walk into a restaurant or a shop so, try not to make it a big deal in your own head and just have fun with it!

    2. I'll definitely try that Sinead, once I get used to wearing it around the house I'm sure it'll be easier to wear it on a night out :-)
