To prime my skin, I love Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. To be honest, I'm not convinced it does much but, I like how it makes my skin feel before I put my foundation on and I must be on my second or third tube by now! Foundation-wise, I have only started using the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation over the last three weeks or so and I really, really, really like it. To be honest, I don't like wearing foundation or make-up in general (I'm one of those people who has to take my make-up off the second I walk in the door!) as it makes my skin feel like it's clogged up but, I have worn this foundation for up to nine hours at a time and it's been really comfortable on my skin. I'm using the Chanel Les Beiges at the moment to set my make-up and it's grand, nothing to write home about though!
I'm not too fussed about cheek products as, for daytime, I prefer a more natural look. However, I do love MAC Mineralized Blush in Warm Soul as it is a really neutral shade that warms up my ghostly complexion! As for Dior Amber Diamond Highlighter, I have included it because I am trying to get through it but, frankly, I'm not all that keen. I don't find that it does much and, even though I know Dee loves it, it's not the bomb diggity! Note to self...stop buying things because of the hype.
Since I basically have non-existent eyebrows, brows are my one true love in life and I love filling them in. I'm not a huge fan of heavy eyebrows but, they need to be visible to prevent me from looking like an alien and my current favourite product for this is the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde. The fine tip is great for creating realistic looking brows and the colour is brilliant for blondes and redheads.
I love doing eye make-up and gravitate towards darker shadows but, during the day, I tend to go for things that require less effort. I made up this little MAC quad out of my larger palettes and use it all the time. The shades are Cork, Swiss Chocolate, Handwritten and Sketch and any combination of the four creates a really natural yet smokey eye. In terms of the Urban Decay Naked Palette, I use it most days but, only really for about four or five shades including Virgin, Sin, Buck and Smog. It's not that I don't like the other shades but, these are the ones that are most wearable and require the least work.
I have three concealing products on the go; one for brightening, one for blemishes and one for general use. The MAC Prep+Prime in Radiant Rose is a recent purchase and I haven't really been using it long enough to know if I love it but, paired with the foundation, it makes my undereye area much brighter and hides darkness quite well. For blemishes, I rely on the MAC Studio Finish because it is really dry and covers any type of spot - I wouldn't go putting this on large areas though as it has a tendency to look cakey. The NARS Creamy Concealer is a favourite of both mine and my sister's and I mainly use it for concealing around my nose and anywhere that needs a bit of extra help!
My go-to lip combo is No7 Nude paired with Rimmel Kate Moss #3. I love this for both day and night as it's neutral as opposed to nude and the shade is really rich and a good brown-mauve tone for my complexion. I adore the formula of these lippies as the consistency is really smooth and creamy, almost like a lip balm.
Finally, lashes and liner! Curling my lashes is an absolute must as they are really straight and relatively short. Even though I thought it was overhyped, the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler is genuinely the best one I've ever tried and I highly recommend you invest. Ever since Sinead gave me a tube of the Max Factor False Lash Effect 24 I have been addicted to it. Since it's waterproof, it keeps my lashes curled and lasts really well throughout the day. I only really use eyeliner on my upper lashline to make my eyelashes look thicker and the one I have had for what seems like forever is MAC Eye Kohl in Smoulder which, to be honest, is no better than any cheaper ones but, it's just the one I happen to have!
