Current Favourites

It's been a few months since I have done a Current Favourites and when I was thinking about what make-up to pack for my trip to Prague (which I'm on now) I realised I had quite a few new entries in my make-up collection that were worth updating you on! Over the last 6 months or so, I have been making a concerted effort to streamline my make-up collection, making some high quality purchases that I get use out of everyday.
The foundation is my newest buy and not one I have spoken about on the blog before. I featured Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in a wishlist a few months ago and, after trying out my sister's bottle, I fell in love with the light coverage and satin finish. This is skin perfection in a fancy glass bottle!

Another more recent purchase is the Chanel Blush in the shade Accent. Now, this is part of the current Holiday collection and, on first glance, it looks like a glittery, God-awful disaster but, after hearing nothing but good things about it from MakeUpNeverSleeps (my make-up Yoda) on YouTube, I took the plunge and bought it and Sweet Baby Jesus, it is beautiful! The glitter doesn't transfer for one but, more importantly, the shade is a perfect rich, sophisticated nude that both adds life and lustre to cheeks and sculpts out the hollows of the face.

You probably won't be surprised to see this sleek palette of loveliness in here as it has featured in every My Face post I have done since I bought it. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is everything anyone ever would need in a powder. As well as an all-over powder, there is a bronzer and highlighter which, when used together, create the most incredible glowy cheekbones. As is the purpose of these Ambient Lighting powders, they give the illusion of perfect, flawless skin.

Being a make-up addict is a fickle business and products rotate in and out of my routine like they are on a conveyer belt. However, the Laura Mercier Spellbound Illuminator is one of those products that has withstood the test of time and still features heavily in my daily make-up. It is a rich, glowy rose gold shade that breathes life and light into even the most tired of complexions. If I'm not wearing the highlight from the Hourglass palette, I am wearing this.

Surprise, surprise, the Laura Mercier Artist's Palette for Eyes rears it's big, beautiful head again. This is hand's down the best purchase I have made this year and I reach for it in some context every single day. The colour palette is simple, yet perfect and it makes me excited about make-up every time I see it. I do feel rather guilty that my palettes of MAC eyeshadows are left out in the cold but, hey, there's a new girl in town!

Other products I have been loving include the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, L'Oreal False Lash Flutter mascara*, Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner* and the incomparable concealing duo of Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener and NARS Creamy Concealer!
