It's taken me far too long to blog about these nail polishes, and for that I am truly sorry, because they are absolute beauties. Every new release Bourjois have put out over the last month has been a hit with us and most other bloggers - and these are no exception to the rule.
Following the trend for shiny, vinyl-esque long-lasting polish - or what we could (jokingly!) term a poor woman's Shellac, these 1 Seconde Gel polishes* are stunning on the digits - the shine is unreal and they are very nice to apply, too. The brush is one of the best I've used - a perfect fan effect which grips the whole nail bed in one sweep. Oh and the colours - can we talk about them? Summer may be over, but I am a sucker for blues year-round and will be wearing the darker shade to death for the forseeable. Not that the turquoise isn't gorgeous, either; it was my shade of the summer and is, in my opinion, far nicer than Naughy Nautical, which is one of Essie's most popular shades of the year so far.
We've seen all of this "gel" stuff before with the Rimmel Lycra Pro range, and I feel like these ones win in terms of colour, opacity and shine, but ultimately Rimmel pips Bourjois to the post for longevity - these are kind of so jelly-like in texture that they don't usually make it past the two-day mark on me. Bear in mind, though, that I am very hard on my nails so two days is still brilliant, and they may last even longer on you!
