Dee's Makeup Bag

I don't think I've ever really done one of these "What's in my Makeup Bag" style posts, mainly because I never really had a nice one, and also because the contents of mine gets switched up all the time. I decided now would be a good time to do one because I am really loving what I have on rotation at the moment, and I also finally have a pretty (and practical) bag to keep them all in!

I'd always liked the Ted Baker makeup bags and had toyed with the idea of buying one, but when they came out with this French bulldog print, I was sold straight away. It's a really nice solid, free-standing, waterproof number, with a good quality zip and, most importantly, plenty of room inside!

What's in my make-up bag changes a lot. Day-to-day, I do carry around quite a bit just in case, but rarely use it all. On nights out I will usually bring a black eyeliner pencil as well as a lot of the below products to touch up - it all depends on the occasion!

Brushes

Real Techniques Buffing Brush
Like Sinéad said in a recent post, this really is the only foundation brush you will ever need. The Expert Face brush is brilliant too, but this works every time, with minimal effort, for every foundation that I own.

Real Techniques Multi-Task Brush
It took me ages to get around to buying the set containing this brush, but I am so glad that I did. This is brilliant for powder and blush (powder and cream!).

Disposable Spoolie
I bought a big packet of these for about €3 at one of the beauty shows last year, and it's one of the best and handiest things that I've ever bought. I keep these everywhere and use them to comb through my brows before and after filling them in.

Face Products

Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation
One of the best foundations I have used in a long time - a skin-perfecting, medium-full coverage luminous formula. Review here.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer
I have about three of these knocking around, and I bloody love them. Great to touch up with after work; both under the eyes and on zits and redness.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder
Three words: worth the money. I just love this - decent coverage and it delivers, well, a sheer, healthy glow. Sinéad will have a full review up soon so I'll leave it at that for now!

NARS Deep Throat
One of my favourite blushers of all time. It's almost impossible to apply too much, and it looks great with any make-up look. Review here.
Mascara

Maybelline Full 'n' Soft Waterproof
I rarely re-apply mascara but, when I do, it's usually this one. I can't get enough of this; sadly it's a US-only product, but I have a couple of back-ups thanks to my aunt. I prefer it to most high-end mascaras, too!

Lip Products (my one true love)

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine - Rebelle
I reviewed this lipstick not so long ago, so I don't harp on - suffice to say that this is brilliant for day or night, really easy to wear, and well worth the money.

NARS Funny Face
I posted about this just over a year ago, and am still loving it as much as I did then. It's a real chameleon colour - a bit pink, a bit fuschia, and a smidgen red as well. Writing about it makes me want another NARS lip product!

MAC Lady Danger
My new favourite red lipstick. Looks amazing with a gold eyeshadow look and some coral blush, and warms up my complexion no end.

Korres Mandarin Lip Butter Stick
This never, ever leaves my makeup bag. It has a lovely tint for everyday wear, is nicely hydrating, and it's also really handy to apply over matte red lipsticks if they are drying out my lips a bit.

Bourjois Shine Edition in 20 "1, 2, 3 Soleil"
One of the newest additions to my make-up bag, this glossy lipstick is a nice light coral shade and looks great for a quick daytime look. I really like the formula - definitely a brilliant lipstick for a tenner.

  3. Totally love the Ted Baker make up bags, this print to the cutest! I actually don't have make up bag at the moment so I really should invest in a nice one. I love all the lip shades you have in it, nice range of colours. I could easily have make up bag with only lip products and be very happy!
