Smells like Summer

We've all been embracing the summer like mad here in Ireland of late - I am not enjoying the commute in this heat but, apart from that I am all for it! I have a few bits that I've come to enjoy even more than usual now that it's hotter; they're all "smelly stuff" with beachy or fruity scents that for once, actually feel really appropriate to use right now. Most of them would also be brilliant to take away on a sun holiday if you've room in your suitcase!

The Body Shop's coconut range is one of their best sellers, and surprisingly, one that I've only delved into recently. I fell in love with the body butter a couple of months ago (and used it up far too fast), and just recently picked up the Coconut shower cream in their summer sale. Holy gawd, I am in love. It's just a lovely product that smells amazing in the shower and never dries or strips the skin. Win!

I'm pretty sure I've blogged about this Roger and Gallet oil before, but it deserves another plug as I'm now on to my second bottle and still haven't tired of the scent. Another true summer fragrance, Roger and Gallet Fleur d'Osmanthus Body Oil* (€23) is probably the most uplifting and zingy out of all that I am feauturing here. It's a brilliant multi-tasker to take on holidays, as you can use it on your body and hair - just beware of the glass packaging.

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess is an infamous holiday scent. I'd wanted to try it for a long time, and eventually caved this year, buying it as a post-exams treat to myself. I couldn't regret the purchase less and have been using it almost religiously since. It perks me up on work days and works equally well for evening wear. I think I'll be buying it every year from now on - possibly more than one!

Crabtree and Evelyn is a brand that I have always been familiar with as my mam loves it. They have a really nice, old-fashioned feel to the products without ever compromising on quality. The Tarocco Orange Body Lotion* (€17.50 from Dolledup.ie) has been a really refreshing treat during the clammy weather of the last week. The eucalyptus keeps the lotion from being overly fruity or sweet, and it sinks in and hydrates quickly with no sticky residue.

It's incredibly refreshing and would be a lovely gift for the body product snob in your life - I actually gave the hand cream from this range to my Granny. She is a hand cream expert of sorts and reported back to me that it was an absolute pleasure to use both scent and texture-wise - like the lotion, it sunk it right away and didn't feel oily or greasy. So there you have it, a mini-review from my amazing Granny - FYI - she also loves Clarins products and swears by their HydraQuench serum, a product that I love too!
