Neon is here to stay for yet another season and one of the easiest ways to sport this trend is with a slick of fluoro polish on your nails. Following on from the neon collections of brands like Essie and Nails Inc, L'Oreal Paris have dropped the Neon Pop* (RRP €7.49) collection, a quad of bright and juicy nail shades.
I really rate the Color Riche nail polishes. The formula is solid across the board with most shades applying opaquely in just one coat. Wear-time is average to good but, I have noticed that the formula is quite heat sensitive and is susceptible to buckling and peeling following exposure to warm temperatures, whether that be in a shower, from the sun or whatever.
The four Neon Pop shades are; Banana Pop, Acid Watermelon, Wasabi Hint and Flashing Lilac. All of these shades are a really nice twist on your standard yellows, mints, purples and pinks and definitely brighten up even the most basic and neutral look.
Acid Watermelon, a neon baby pink, is my standout shade as it's quite unusual and unique but, special mention must go to the rich yellow Banana Pop. In the bottle, I thought this would be foul but, it's such a warm yellow that it doesn't look sickly on the nails but, rather brings out any sallow undertones that may exist in your skin. The line-up is also complemented with the bright white Snow in Megeve; a pure snow white that can be used to create an alternative French manicure, an accent nail or even worn beneath neons to make them appear brighter and more shocking.
