Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser

What will they think of next?! When we started this blog over two and a half years ago, I never would have thought I'd be sat here now, penning a piece about a bloody skin conditioner! But essentially, that is what this stuff is. When I got this through my letterbox I immediately thought - gimmick. Is it, though?

The premise of Nivea's In-Shower Body Moisturiser* is that it leaves a nourishing layer of moisture on the skin without a greasy "film", meaning you can get dressed and go straight after your shower. Now, I suppose this benefit doesn't really apply to me, as I almost always shower at night because my hair takes an hour to try. I actually love nothing more than slathering myself in body butter or lotion, drying my hair and hopping into bed. If you're a person with dry skin who does shower in the morning, though, there is an obvious appeal to this product.

I've used this a few times now and, while I do like it, it's so-so, I'm not blown away, and I don't think I'll buy it when my sample runs out. You basically slather it on after body wash - I tried to leave it on for a minute while washing my face or whatever - and then rinse off. I was sent the "dry skin" version of this and I didn't find it to be super-hydrating at all, even though I have very normal, balanced skin on my body.

Honestly, I was just not bothered about this one way or the other. It's a cool concept and something I was curious about, having seen chat online about both this and Lush Ro's Argan body conditioner. I don't think you should rush out and buy this unless you are really desperate to try it - I think for most people, it just won't make enough of a difference and you'd be better off with a regular body lotion!

  1. I don't get it! I love body moisturisers and body butters but having to rinse something off again?! Madness x

  2. The LUSH Ro's Argan Body Conditioner is a million times nicer and has way more benefits too. You should give it a go and compare the 2.

    Dee x

  3. I don't understand how an in shower moisturizer would work. WOuldn't the water just be drying out your skin again?

  4. I suppose you could use it up to shave your legs? Thats what I use Ro's Argan for
