Luxury lipstick is one of my favourite things, like, ever, and yes, I am aware of how silly and frivolous that may sound. Really, though, I think we should all own at least one "nice" lipstick - personally, I am way over that quota.
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Rebelle was a bit of an impulse pick-me-up purchase, but I do not regret it, not one bit. I had been reluctant in the past to shell out for a high-end sheer lipstick as I kind of felt it was a waste of money - more money should mean more pigment, right? Well, I'm making an exception for this one, and actually, a few more of these would be very welcome in my stash.
Rebelle is a brilliant daytime red - it's punchy, but never OTT. There is a lot of coral in the shade too, but it isn't overly orange, and I think it would be universally flattering whether you are pale or tanned. As this is a glossy, sheer lipstick, wear time is far from phenomenal but, it is incredibly comfortable - hydrating, even - on the lips, and wears off evenly and cleanly.
What I love about this colour is that it is as at home with minimal makeup as it is with a full face of slap and liquid liner, or even an in-between, summery look as shown below. I have been really into just eyeshadow of late - no eyeliner at all apart from my nude Apocalips pencil, which is previously unheard of for me, but that's another blog post entirely!
