B. Pure Micellar Water

Micellar waters have taken over the skincare market of late; they are a great, handy product to have but probably not worth over-hyping unless you are a professional make-up artist in need of a quick, effective and non-irritating cleanser.

For us "normal" people, I think micellar waters are brilliant to have on standby in lieu of makeup wipes for quick fix on a late night. For day-to-day use, they're also fantastic to get the initial layer of gunk off before going in with a proper cleanser and water. A good micellar will not strip the skin like wipes do, and should leave it relatively comfortable and moist (although further cleansing is necessary to get everything off, in my opinion)!

I first read about this micellar water on British Beauty Blogger, it's part of a new range from Superdrug and it's really quite good. I've liked Superdrug skincare in the past - their Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser is one of the best I've tried, and it's just a shame that there aren't more than a few branches of Superdrug here in Ireland!

Finally, on to the product itself! This is a nifty little cleanser that I found to be just as good as more expensive versions from Vichy and La Roche Posay (this one is just €6). I haven't tried Bioderma yet, but, as micellar waters go, I think this one is brilliant. My skin feels really comfortable after using it, and it doesn't irritate my eyes - although if I have a lot of eye make-up on, I do need to go in with a proper eye make-up remover.

I really like this stuff and I think it's great for the price. I am not usually one to scrimp on skincare, but, with a product this good there is really no need for a more expensive equivalent. I am already on to my second bottle, which has to be a good sign!

  1. I've had this for a while now and I just can't get into using it. I find that it leaves my skin uncomfortably tight and itchy, no matter what I put on afterwards.. I was very excited about it, as I'd read about it on BBB too.. :( Oh well, some products are not for everyone :(

  2. Sounds great and I know packaging doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but it looks like it cost a hell of a lot more!

  3. I think there is only one Superdrug in all of Munster it's crazy, such a shame as it's a great store. I must look out for this.

  4. Totally agree!!! I only use a micellar water if my cleansing balm has not taken of all of my mascara (which rarely happens) or on makeup jobs. I have tons of friends who use wipes and waters as their cleansing routine :(
