A Day in the Life of a Beauty Blogger: Sinead

I'm a really nosy person. Not to the point of being voyeuristic but, I love getting an insight into people's lives which is probably why I love lifestyle blogs and daily vlogs so much! I have seen a number of these Day In the Life style posts popping up in my Bloglovin' feed and, after reading and enjoying them so much (especially this one by British Beauty Blogger) I decided to try my hand at documenting a day in my own life!

Seeing as this is a beauty blog, I picked a recent day where a lot of what I did was blog-centric, just to give you an idea of what it's like to blog as a hobby and do normal things too! You'll probably notice that my day is really regimented. I plan everything and feel antsy about my routine changing...I'm a bit weird like that! I hope you find it a little bit interesting and if you have done one on your own blog, please leave a link in the comments as I love reading them!

7:25 My first alarm goes off. I set around 8 alarms because I have an innate fear of oversleeping and being late to work! Despite having back up alarms, I ALWAYS wake up fully at the first one and have never hit a snooze button in my life; I think I have managed to convince myself that it is a bad omen for the day to hear my second alarm. Yes, I am weird! 

7:25-7:30 I give myself 5 minutes to relax and wake up properly while I check in with Facebook, Instagram and email. 

7:30-7:35 I head to the bathroom and blitz through my morning routine.

7:35-7:50 I'm back in my room. Even though I don't wear much during the week, I give myself around 15 minutes to do my make-up, purely because it's the last chance I will have to relax until the evening and because I truly enjoy doing it. I have usually laid out my clothes the night before so, I just take 5 minutes or so to get dressed.


7:50-08:10 I'm downstairs for breakfast. I've overhauled my whole lifestyle recently and am eating a bigger breakfast than I have ever done before and am really feeling the benefit of it in terms of hunger and energy levels. 

Currently I have a protein shake with almond milk and a slice of wholemeal toast with peanut butter for breakfast and catch up on YouTube videos as I eat. 


08:10-08:35 My mam drops me at the train station on her way to work and I usually get into the city centre by 08:35.

08:40-17:30(ish!) My real life job is in recruitment. It's a pretty busy, constantly moving and changing environment so, I'm definitely kept on my toes! I tend to take lunch at around 1pm and like to read my Kindle while I eat. However, today, I am using my lunch hour to pop into a quick meeting with MAC to run through the brand and upcoming collections. 


I don't go to many events as work is my priority and always takes precedence but, when it works out, it's nice to show my face and it feeds the beauty fiend in me! 

17:40 I usually leave the office around this time and today, Dee and I are going to a Sally Hansen event for the launch of their new collection. Two events in one day is rare enough and it makes the day quite busy but, we love it and appreciate the opportunities to go! 


19:00 We get a taxi home from the Sally Hansen event and I go to the gym for a quick workout. Usually I go straight from work but, move it around when necessary. I've been working on technique recently, hence the picture of me squatting - I'm not some creep in the gym with a camera!!


20:30 Back home, showered and sitting down to dinner. I use this time to catch up on blog stuff, YouTube videos, emails etc. It's my favourite time of the day as I can finally breathe and slob about with no real pressure to do anything if I don't want to. My boyfriend Kev usually comes over around this time to watch a movie or some TV, so long as he doesn't have a late appointment (He's an athletic therapist/physio type person!). I also use this time to sort through any new post and put it in its relevant category; Blog, Magazine, To Review, To Photograph etc. 


22:30 I always try to be in bed by this time. Usually I will catch up on one of my TV shows that I watch online (Currently watching Grey's Anatomy, Girls and Revenge) but, given that today was so busy, I am working on some articles for OohLaLa, the magazine that Dee and I are contributing beauty editors for. 


23:30 I need my eight hours so, it's generally lights out around now. My sleep used to be really haphazard and I often had at least one night during the week where I wouldn't get any sleep but, since I have really knuckled down on this new way of eating and training, I sleep really solidly and rarely ever wake up tired. As a side note, I have had a few requests on Instagram to do a full post about my change in lifestyle and how I am finding it in terms of weight loss etc. I have been hesitant to do it but, if it's something you'd be interested in, please let me know in the comments!

So, that's my day in a nutshell. Not particularly interesting but, full to the brim nonetheless!

  4. I love a good nosey into other peoples fitness routines and diets, so I would like to see a post on your lifestyle change. I've heard a lot of talk about having your largest meal at breakfast but I'm not sure I could stomach it. I'm a bit slow in the morning.
