Forever Favourites

Being a beauty junkie means that you're exposed to countless different products and brands every month. So, it's unsurprising that it is next to impossible to find "forever" products, that is, those products that you can't be without.

However, over the last number of months, I have been making a concerted effort to downsize my make-up collection and skincare stash by using up products I already have and not buying anything until I run out. Honestly, it had got to the point where the sheer volume of products was becoming overwhelming and, genuinely, sickening. As a result of my ruthless culling, I am getting to the stage where I have a really tight edit of products that I genuinely love, repurchase frequently and can't see myself ever being without. Introducing my Forever Favourites.

First up is the multi-tasking, fix everything product from La Roche-Posay, Cicaplast Baume B5. I wrote a full review, including pictures, here so, you can go check that out but, suffice to say I am yet to be without a tube of this stuff. It works on everything from blisters to burns, eczema to nappy rash and even as a hydrating face mask!

Nuxe Rêve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm is a relatively recent addition to my line-up and my one and only lip balm love at the moment. Since December, I have almost finished two sticks of this balm and one pot. It is incredibly conditioning and is a perfect base for under make-up. Again, full review here

I've lost count of how many times I have spoken about MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (In fact, if you Google images for "MAC MSFN" as I did to get the above image, you'll see more than a few pictures of my face! Got a bit of a shock!). However, it's not without merit that I constantly mention this face powder. If you want a flawless finish and good coverage, this powder is irreplaceable. I always have one of the compacts in my bag for touch-ups and one in a drawer as back-up.

This next favourite is rather annoying as it is not something that can be easily accessed this side of the Atlantic. However, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in the shade Exposed is literally the only blush I see myself ever needing. It is the most perfect natural shade that gives skin a rosy, healthy glow. I reviewed it in full here

Origins Super Spot Remover is one of the few products I think everyone should have in their stash. It is a literal lifesaver when a pimple pops up. Dab a drop of this magic gel on the area and, without hours, it will have dried up and shrunk considerably. A little goes a long way so, the teeny bottle will last you forever; this is still my first one!

Finally, one for the nails. OPI Nail Envy is a 2-in-1 product for me as I use it as a nail polish base but, also to give some much needed strength to my brittle nails. It is the only product I have found that actually strengthens and gives my nails some length and I can tell within days if I have missed an application as my nails become flexible and start peeling. Which reminds me...I must order another bottle!

Do you have any products you just can't be without?

  1. Love all these products!

    talisa xx

  2. I LOVE Cicaplast Baume B5, I did a full post on it a few days ago on my blog. It really is a fab multi-tasker, I've used it everywhere from my lips to my tattoo to my hands... I'd be lost without it!

Where do you buy the Origins products in Ireland, I've never come across them??

    Steff x

    1. Debenhams and Arnotts sell Origins but, I buy from House of Fraser online!

    2. Thanks, will have to pick some up!

  3. MAC Mineralized Skin finish is my favorite too <3

  4. I really want to get OPI nail envy as my nails are peeling like crazy. It pricey but I got some birthday money so I may just have to give in... :) x

  5. I can't live with the Urban Decay baked bronzer in 'gilded', its so pretty :)
