Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser & Balm
Have you ever seen a cuter looking product? This is the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser & Balm (RRP €9.95) and, for some reason, seeing the little swirls brings a smile to my face! This product, from one of our favourite nail brands, is an all-in-one combination remover and crème which softens and removes jagged cuticles and hangnails while also conditioning nails and cuticles.
The balm contains white tea and cucumber (the predominant scent) which work to gently soften and loosen the overgrowth of cuticles on your nails. By massaging the balm into the nail bed and using an orange stick to scrape back and remove the dead skin, you can give yourself a very tidy, professional(ish) at-home manicure.
I was a bit skeptical about this product. I have been burned in the past by similar incarnations and swore never to bother again. However, I had such a good experience with the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover which I picked up in the USA last year that I decided to give this offering a shot. Much to my surprise, it does actually work. The formula is easy-to-use, quick-drying and non-greasy. I just slapped it on my fingernails and, without even touching it with a cuticle pusher, the cuticles that had crept up my nails had vanished, allowing me to get a much more even and tidy result from my nail polish.
I can't say that I prefer this over the aforementioned Instant Cuticle Remover but, as this isn't available in Ireland, the Cuticle Eraser & Balm is a really good alternative which does as it promises and is definitely worth having in your manicure kit.
