Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer
Concealer is a critical part of my everyday makeup routine, yet something that I haven't really covered in-depth on the blog. I have mentioned that I really love the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer and have been using it pretty consistently for over a year now. I'm not one for trying loads of different concealers; I stick to what I know works, because there is nothing worse than a concealer that lets you down half-way through the day, or fails to cover blemishes properly.
I bought this on a bit of a whim - I'd actually been looking for the Double Wear Maximum Cover to use as a concealer (as recommended by Holly YMBB), but it was out of stock, so I plumped for the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer. Bit of a mouthful, no?! It also has an SPF of 10 - not bad, especially for the under-eye area.
This is €24.50 - steep for a concealer. Was it worth the money? Definitely. I wasn't blown away the first couple of times I used this, and continued to reach for my Collection concealer about 50% of the time. Over time, though, I have come to prefer this and now I'm obsessed. I find that it goes on really well, is blendable, and doesn't 'sit' on top of the skin like a lot of heavy-duty concealers tend to.
It works equally well for me on the undereye area as it does for on blemishes and redness - I would usually use a lighter concealer for under my eyes, but a bit of this looks amazing without being too heavy. It never creases and lasts for eons on my skin - even on the worst spots. The colour could be a little paler (I guess this is my only complaint), but it blends so well that this is really only a minor issue.
This concealer has lasted me months - I got it in October - and is still going strong. That, coupled with the fact that I can use it under my eyes and on blemishes, has made it worth the money for me. If you have the cash and want to invest in a long-lasting, non-cakey concealer that gives a perfected 'second skin' look, then this is it!
