Now, this is not the best make-up that I have done recently. There are some faults and slip-ups here - my eyeliner is pretty wonky and has transferred onto my upper eyelid - not a good look. But hey, we're all human and I'd feel like I was lying to you guys if I didn't put these up, I just wish I'd stopped at eyeshadow that day! The main purpose of this post is to show you a few bits that I received at a recent Armani event, let you know what I think of them and how they look on my face, as well as letting you know what my current foundation routine is.
I mixed two foundations, YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat* and No7 Stay Perfect*. It was Sinéad who discovered this mix and told me to try it, and I love the resulting finish and shade. Now, I wouldn't urge you all to run out and buy both of these foundations specifically to mix them together, but it definitely is worth experimenting with what you have in order to DIY your perfect foundation!
I then applied Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes and on blemishes. While waiting for my foundation and concealer to settle a little, I combed through my brows with a spoolie and filled them in using MAC Brow Pencil in Spiked. I then powdered all over my face with MAC MSFN in Light, contoured with MAC Harmony and used MAC Fleur Power for blush. Although I often change up what I use for contour and blush, this is pretty much my current daily foundation routine at the moment and I love it for daytime. I've never had such a great match to my natural skintone, and I really appreciate how little blending I have to do in the mornings!
I primed my eyes using Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Linen. I've spoken about this stuff already - it's probably the best eye primer I've ever used, and I love the soft veil of matte cream colour that it leaves on my lids. I then applied Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Shadow #28* all over the lid, blending it out at the crease. This is an absolutely stunning coppery-gold eyeshadow with serious pigment. It applies and blends like a dream; at €26, it'd bloody want to be, but I do think that these are worth the investment. For liquid eyeliner, I used Essence Sun Club Splash-proof liner, and then applied a coat of Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill mascara*. Now, I really love this mascara a lot, especially because of how fluttery it makes my lashes look and how well it holds a curl. However, I love my Avon and Max Factor mascaras just as much, if not more. So, for €29, I can't honestly recommend this unless you are a total mascara junkie and can't find anything good enough. So, in short, it is really good but far too dear, and not something I'd buy myself because of its short shelf life.
I'm wearing Rouge d'Armani Sheer in shade 504*. This is going to sound stupidly frivolous and dramatic, but this lipstick has been a total revelation for me! I've said here so many times that I don't like nudes, and I also struggle to find light pinks that suit me. Well, the search stops here, because I have literally been worshipping this lipstick. The shade is really flattering - juicy, shiny and not too pale, and the formulation is out of this world. It feels like a balm and is incredibly comfortable to wear - I can't praise it enough and it's definitely worth €25. I can see myself using the whole thing up, and I am a girl with a lot of lipsticks (64 on the last count. Ridiculous, I know).
Have you tried anything from Armani? See anything here that floats your boat?
