Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains: Lovesick & Romantic
| Top: Lovesick. Bottom: Romantic |
I'm sure a lot of you will have heard of or seen these by now. Basically, they're Revlon's answer to Clinique's enduringly popular Chubby Sticks, but with added pigment and lasting power. I love the packaging of these: they're chunky, ergonomic and easy to apply. Formula-wise, they're a glossy, super-pigmented balm that leaves a stain of colour behind when the gloss has gone. There is a slight menthol scent to these, which I love, but it disappears quickly, so not to worry if you're not a fan of scented lip products.
The shade range has something for everyone, from nudes to mid-tone pinks and brights. Predictably, I have two of the brightest shades: Lovesick and Romantic. Sinéad gave me Lovesick as part of my birthday pressie (thanks S!) and I loved it so much that I picked up another one in red.
Lovesick is a bright blue-toned pink with a tiny amount of shimmer, which isn't detectable on the lips, but adds a lot of depth to the shade. It's very like Revlon's Lip Butter in Lollipop, but so much more long-lasting. I find with these that as you reapply throughout the day, the shade is intensified and deepened. Romantic is a mid-toned, orangey flat red which isn't quite as strong on the lips as it looks swatched. Don't get me wrong, I do love it for an everyday colour, I only wish that there was a stronger red in the range. I'm a bit too addicted to colour, I think!
Final thoughts: I really love and recommend these. They're not super-cheap at €11, but you'd be hard pushed to use one of these up fast. They are hydrating and perfect for long days on the go. 10/10!
