3: Current Favourites

It's that time again. I've rotated enough new skincare and beauty products into my daily routine to find some that I've really been loving and which are worthy of a an updated Current Favourites post (Check out my previous faves here)! While it has been depressingly rainy here in Dublin it is also quite humid so, I've been embracing minimal, glowy make-up that won't look too dodgy if it sweats off during the day as I'm running around! With that in mind, you'll probably notice that many of my favourites are very much centred around creating a light base with a dewy finish.
Faves1
Vichy Purete Thermale Calming Cleansing Micellar Solution* - I reviewed this briefly in my recent updated skincare routine post and, still, I have nothing but good things to say about it. It is the quickest form of cleansing I have ever come across - perfect for rushed mornings before work! I literally just wake up, soak a cotton pad in this and wipe over my face to remove any make-up residue or overnight build-up. I leave it to absorb into my skin, safe in the knowledge my skin is clean before I apply my moisturiser and make-up.

Max Factor False Lash Effect 24* - This is definitely the mascara of the summer for me. While I haven't tested the 24 hour wear time claim, I can verify that it lasts a good 16 hours with no smudging, flaking or clumping. It also takes a really strong bi-phases eye make-up remover to shift it so, it will be my mascara of choice for hitting the pool and beach on holiday! (Review here.)

YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat* - It probably seems that every blogger and their mother has been raving about this foundation over the last month or so and it is all entirely deserved. I have no hesitation in saying that it is one of the best foundations I have ever used. It creates a dewy, luminescent base that is buildable to a good level of medium coverage and lasts all day long.

MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle - This is an oldy but, a goody and a total rediscovery on my part! I have three MAC MSFs in my collection; a bronzer, a blusher and a highlighter and, for the most part, they only come out during summertime when I want to create the dewy, glowy complexion I mentioned above. Soft and Gentle is the world's most perfect highlighter for my pale skintone to give a beautifully golden and lit-from-within effect.

Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour in Rose Gold - I, like so many others these days, am entirely besotted with rose gold. It's so much more flattering and warming on my pale skin than yellow gold and the same theory applies to my make-up as to jewellery. After loving my Laura Mercier Loose Mineral Powder Foundation so much, I was eager to try more from the brand and this creme shadow caught my eye, if only for the name! It's the perfect shade to compliment my blue eyes and give a warm, summery glow to my look. I've been wearing it alone on the lid but, also as a base for MAC Mythology eyeshadow, another rose gold shade.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat* - Listen up ladies, if you don't already own this product, you need it in your lives! Effaclar Mat is a hydrating moisturiser that is aimed at those with oil-prone skin as it dries to a beautiful matte texture. Well, I don't have oily or oil-prone skin but, that doesn't stop me using and loving it as a make-up base during the humid weather. It prevents my skin from getting too shiny and holds my make-up in place longer than a normal moisturiser does. The only downside is that it doesn't contain SPF so, I do pop a little of the Vichy Aqualia UV moisturiser underneath it. (Review here.)

No7 Fanomenal Lashes Mascara* - This mascara is everything that the Max Factor one is not; subtle, fluttery and easy-to-remove! It's the perfect counterbalance to the dramatics of the Max Factor gives lashes as it fans out lashes and makes eyes looked wide and awake. It comes off easily with just water but, crucially doesn't smudge or flake throughout the day.

Sally Hansen Complete Care 4-in-1* - It's a beauty junkie's dream to have nail polish last, unchipped, for a week. Having tried most every popular topcoat on the market today, the best results have come from this Sally Hansen offering. Depending on the polish I pair it with, I can get up to 6 days of perfect wear which isn't too shabby. It can also be used as a base coat but, I do prefer to use OPI Nail Envy for that as I have weak nails. (Review here).

Stella Nude by Stella McCartney* - God, it's been the longest time since I have included a perfume in a favourites post! I used to love perfume but, found that it made me quite nauseous on the commute to and from work so, I stopped wearing it on a daily basis. However, this floral beauty has totally changed that and it has been my go-to perfume everyday since we received it at the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Awards. With top notes of rose, floral and citrus, it is not my usual choice of perfume as I prefer dark, woody almost sensual and masculine scents. However, this has proved to be the perfect perfume for daytime as it is light, fresh and not at all overpowering or nauseating.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover - Like the YSL foundation, it seems that every second person I speak to has tried and loved the little pot of magic that Bourjois released recently! A hefty tub filled with a sponge and an apparently nourishing nail polish remover, you literally stick your finger in the hole *titters* twist it around and, when you remove it, your nail will be free of polish. This is an absolute lifesaver for someone like me who can never seem to get the nail polish off of the sides of my nails. It's super quick, super easy and, while not the cheapest, it'll be a constant repurchase I imagine!

Do let me know what products you've been loving lately!
