A Hit and a Miss from The Body Shop

I love The Body Shop, but, like most brands, not everything that they put their name to is excellent. I love most of their body products, lip balms and the Honey Bronze range and would recommend them to you all. I buy a good bit from The Body Shop, mostly in their sales because they're great value, and, let's face it, most of us would struggle to hand over €20 for a body butter, no matter how good it is! Their body butters are absolutely amazing, and I go through them like there's no tomorrow.

So, staying on this subject, the latest body butter that I picked up is the Brazil Nut one, which is currently €10 in the sale. Out of all the scents I've tried (blueberry, papaya, pink grapefruit, shea butter and Chocomania), this has to be one of my favourites. I find that the nutty scents tend to be a lot thicker and more moisturising than the fruity ones, and this is no exception.
It's very thick and ideal for use before bed so you can let it sink in overnight. It's so hydrating and makes my skin really smooth and soft. The brazil nut scent is very sweet, nutty (duh) and almost chocolatey, too, although that could just be my imagination! So, suffice to say that this is yet another body butter that I adore and would buy again.

Now, on to a not-so-positive review. I was sent The Body Shop's new Spa Fit Toning Concentrate a good while ago, and I really didn't know what to make of it. Now, I'll insert a bit of a preamble here saying that I don't have much faith in any product that promises to tone skin or remove cellulite. That's what the gym is for!
This stuff contains citrus and caffeine extracts to firm up and smooth out your skin. It's an odd texture - kind of a gel consistency. It smells really zingy, minty and orangey all at once which is actually really nice and refreshing. However, I see no real benefit in buying something like this and it's not something I'd have handed over my own cash for. As refreshing as it is, it's not as moisturising as my other body products and I know that I'd have been pretty disappointed if I'd bought this, so it's not something that I'd recommend!

What are your favourite Body Shop products? We have plenty more from them to rave about in the coming weeks!

  1. I love to body shop, like you I can't justify handing over €25/€20 for a body butter that I can get for €3 odd in tesco. this sounds so sad but it is only recently that I realised they have a sale on so I am deff going to have to get my hands on some of there products during the next sale!!

I have to agree with you with the spa fit product, all those products are just like a body butter. what gets rid of those lumps and bumps is promoting the circulation in those areas. using a body butter dose that and so dose the gym like you said.

  2. I really need to go into The Body Shop if they're having a sale! I used to love it when I was younger but haven't bought anything recently! I used to love their coconut lip balm! xx

  3. I love body butter by the body shop! They smell sooo yummmy
