Striped Nails!

I'm still getting back into the swing of nail art. For ages, I was solely into block colours, and even quit my glitter habit for a while - very odd for me! Anyhow, as we're edging closer to the summertime, I've found myself getting back into more decorative manicures. I got the idea for this from Dolly Rouge - I saw that Rachelle used the essence nail tip painter to create vertical stripes, and it was a real 'why didn't I think of that?' moment.

Essence Nail Tip Painter, Sally Hansen Shrimply Devine, Model's Own Beth's Blue, Orly Won't Chip & Ridgefiller

I did two coats of the white stripes and finished off with Orly Won't Chip. This really made a difference as it kind of smoothed the whole thing out and added a lovely shine. I loved the colours I used, too...very toothpaste-esque!

Overall, I found this really easy to do with the help of the super-cheap Essence nail striper. The finished look earned loads of compliments, and I can't wait to play around with more colours!

  2. So scrummy! Will have to give this a go.

  3. bizarrely, I too tried this out for the first time last week too, and was completely boggled as to how I hadnt thought of doing this before. Essence nail tip whitener = gem

  4. Great stripes and nice colors. ;)
