Back-Ups Box
And it's not like I'm coming from an ignorant place. I too keep back-ups of products but, only those that are really necessities and that I'm pretty scuppered without if they run out. I don't really think the world will end if I have to go a day or two without my favourite lipstick but, I do think it'll come pretty close if I'm out of eye make-up remover and have to go to work the next day with last night's mascara smeared across my face because no amount of water will remove it!
So, I thought I would show you what I always have back-ups of. For the most part, I think that they are pretty justifiable and most are necessities to my daily routine to keep me clean and presentable looking!
Due to my eczema, I always have to have a body cream on stand-by to keep my skin hydrated and to prevent the eczema flaring up. Similarly, I keep shaving foam handy so I don't irritate the eczema when shaving. I also always have cotton pads to hand as I go through them so quickly with make-up removal and manicures.
Next up is more of a money saving method than a back-up as I don't specifically need my favourite Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner. However, it is my preferred choice so, when I know I'm running low and I find it on the cheap, I do pick up at least the shampoo to keep my hair happy!
I'm as blind as a bat and hate my glasses so, I always stock up on contact lenses. I order mine from Daysoft where it's about €12 for a month's supply and cheaper if you buy in bulk.
Deodorant is one of those "can't live without" necessities and one I always keep multiples of. Because I train so much and live in fear of being smelly, I always have a fresh spray to hand, usually whatever is on special offer!
Nail polish remover and eye make-up remover are two more things I can't afford to run out of. Because I work in a professional environment, I can't really get away with days old smudgy mascara and chipped nail polish so I always keep these on stand-by.
Finally, the last products aren't necessities but, they are extras that I keep in this box to fall back on. I have an Avon SuperSHOCK eyeliner and SuperSHOCK MAX mascara as they are two of my favourites and I also have a back-up of Benefit's They're Real! mascara I was given as a present as well as my Holy Grail top coat, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri!
Do you keep back-ups?

I always wonder about those people too, most of the time i cant wait to finish a product so i can try something new and diferent :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! I love getting that opportunity to try more stuff! x
DeleteThe main back-ups I kept going are my batiste dry shampoo, my hair couldn't look normal without it:)
ReplyDeleteHaha I was just thinking about this the other day and that it would make a great blog post! I'm similar to you, my back-up box consists of extra nail polish remover, deodorant, toothpaste. Things that I will pick up when I see them on offer because I know I'll definitely be needing them. I also have a back-up of Bioderma because I can't just nip into town and get that. And mascaras because I'm picky and like to have fresh, clean ones to open, I definitely throw them out before the required 3 months! But 5 black eyeliners or 5 back-ups of the same lipstick? nah x
ReplyDeleteive just gone onto the day soft website and ordered some contacts to try out! Can't believe how cheap they are! Nice one!
ReplyDeleteYes totally true, I always save up for those new limited edition products, never mind buying two of them! Anyway If they're that perfect the product will come out again for them ! great idea though, the amount of times I've run out of shampoo or hairspray is ridiculous.
