I wrote a list, awhile back, of beauty tasks I just couldn't master. Ever since then, I have mentally been adding to that list as I realise yet another beauty basic I struggle with!
One thing I have never been able to do myself is pluck my eyebrows. I know it sounds bizarre as it is such a simple task but I really struggle with pruning them and have resorted to always paying to have them waxed or threaded so that they are in a fit condition to bring out in public!
A few years back, I bought a Tweezerman tweezers, convinced that all my plucking problems would be solved. Even now there are no words to describe how disappointed I was with the cult favourite brand that people literally swore by for creating perfect arches.
I had spent the guts of €30 on a tweezers that was on par with one I had paid €3 for in H&M. Suffice to say I went back to my waxing ways at least until recently when a leopard print Manicare tweezer caught my eye
in a chemist and, before I had a chance to even consider it, I dropped €8 on them.
Well, let me tell you, I am converted.
Whatever it is about these Tweezerman doppelgangers, I can finally pluck my brows really, really well! The tips are super slated and extremely sharp and I can get at all the short, pale blonde hairs that usually drove me demented with trying.
They are also tightly sprung which seems to minimise the ouch factor and I find I can skim them across the skin and collect up multiple strays at once! Winning!
To further heighten my delight, I was also able to perfectly apply fake eyelashes on the first try using these tweezers, a task which has always been a major point of frustration for me!
If you're like me and really struggle with simple beauty maintenance or want some new tweezers but, don't want to shell out thirty blips for them, give these Manicare ones a shot; you won't be disappointed!
