Shopping my Stash for Spring 2012
You might remember a few months ago we went to a preview for Lancôme's spring 2012 collection, Roseraie des Delices, out in February. The inspiration behind the collection was that of Laudurée macaroons and a garden tea party. The palette was a pastel cacophony of peaches, pinks and mint greens.
It seems that Lancôme wasn't the only beauty powerhouse to pick up on the juicy pastel trend as imagery released for YSL and Clarins spring collections both revealed a similar colour palette, though with different inspirations.
While it would be great to snap up every product in every seasonal release that takes our fancy, it's not economically viable for most of us to do so. In the spirit of being a recessionista, off I went to shop my stash and I found some spring trend appropriate products that will (hopefully!) save me from being tempted into frivolous purchases!
Both of these MAC eyeshadows are right on point for spring 2012. Samoa Silk and Paradisco are juicy peach tones with the former being a pastel matte and the latter a deeper shade with gold shimmer.

Blush is one of my major beauty weaknesses and these MAC shades from my collection really play into the spring aesthetic.
L-R: MAC Well Dressed, MAC Dollymix, MAC Fleur Power and MAC Melba
MAC Well Dressed is the perfect pale pink while Dollymix is the perfect cool-toned hint of bright pink, like that used in Lancome's La Roseraie Blush palette. MACs Fleur Power and Melba are the perfect peachy blushes to give a lovely warm flush to cheeks.
For lips, I'm thinking creamy, opaque ice-cream tones and I have a few in my collection that match this mindset. From MAC, Pink Nouveau, Cremecup and Ravishing all work well within these confines as do Dior Addict in Beige Casual and Sleek Pout Paint in Milkshake.

I actually have a nail polish shade from the Roseraie des Delices collection. It is a milky peach called Rose Tangerine and I'm just waiting until the day the weather is bright and fresh enough to wear it! Other appropriate shades I have are Leighton Denny Babydoll, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Yellow Kitty, OPI Chapel of Love and Chanel Nouvelle Vague!

Have you "shopped your stash" for some spring-appropriate products?!
